In this scene - venkatesh asks Brahmi to bring ghee - to which the latter responds that its on the other side of the table - venkatesh says its ok he will have something near by This is where application/network/database concepts fit in -- whenever there is a considerable latency between application and the server - a caching layer servers the purpose by storing the frequently accessed content nearer to the application(like ghee in above example) - think akamai for content delivery caching , redis for database , SSD for i/o disk caching etc #caching #performance #systemdesign

AI adoption in key Indian sectors touches 48% in FY24 The rate of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in key industries across India reached approximately 48% in FY2024, with expectations to expand by an additional 5-7% in FY25, according to data from staffing firm Teamlease Digital. The banking and financial services (BFSI) industry led with a 68% AI adoption rate, followed by the tech industry at 60-65%. Other sectors such as pharma and healthcare, FMCG and retail, manufacturing, infrastructure and transport, and media and entertainment also saw significant adoption rates. This growing integration of AI into various sectors highlights the increasing reliance on technology to enhance business operations and customer experiences in India. #tech #india #ai

India’s Open-Source Cloud Computing Initiative India’s tech innovators are reimagining this landscape through the Open Cloud Compute (OCC) project, spearheaded by the non-profit People+ai. Launched recently at a hackathon in Bengaluru, OCC aims to democratize cloud computing by creating an interoperable marketplace of cloud providers of all sizes. This open-source initiative has the potential to address key challenges in cloud adoption: 1. Affordability: Smaller businesses, startups, and students often find mainstream cloud services prohibitively expensive. OCC’s local providers offer cost-effective alternatives, making it easier to innovate. 2. Flexibility: Proprietary systems often lead to vendor lock-in, making it difficult for users to switch providers. OCC aims to enable seamless transitions between providers and even distribute workloads across multiple vendors using open-source protocols and standards. 3. Justice for Ashwini and Anish: A Call for Accountability On May 19, Ashwini and Anish, two dedicated IT professionals, tragically lost their lives in Pune when an unregistered Porsche, driven recklessly at 150 km/h by a 17-year-old minor, collided with them in Kalyani Nagar. Ashwini died instantly, and Anish succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment. This heartbreaking incident is more than just an accident—it is a stark reminder of systemic failures and a grave injustice that demands our attention. Here's why this incident is more than just a tragic accident: 1. Unregistered Vehicle: The Porsche was delivered by the showroom without proper registration, flouting legal requirements. 2. Irresponsible Parenting: The minor was allowed to drive without a license, with apparent knowledge and consent from the parents. 3. Negligent Club Owner: The minor was reportedly served alcohol and admitted to a club, celebrating 12th-grade results, in blatant violation of the law. 4. Lax Traffic Enforcement: The traffic police failed to identify and stop the unregistered, over speeding vehicle despite it being on the road for months. Shockingly, when the minor was arrested, he received VIP treatment. A local MLA intervened, and a team of lawyers swiftly arranged bail on a Sunday, within just 14 hours. The bail conditions were shockingly lenient—an essay writing assignment and a promise from the parents to ensure it doesn’t happen again. This raises a crucial question: When the law is supposed to be equal for everyone, why do individuals with privilege receive different treatment? I did not know Ashwini and Anish personally, but their tragic deaths resonate deeply. We must call for justice and accountability. Their families deserve support and strength in this difficult time.
