Ayesha Jhulka had ‘nothing to do’ with Manisha Koirala breaking up with Nana Patekar, admits there was ‘attraction’ for Akshay Kumar
Ayesha Jhulka said that it is embarrassing to be linked up with seniors Mithun Chakraborty and Nana Patekar.

Actor Ayesha Jhulka opened up about her rumoured link-ups with actors such as her Khiladi co-star Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, and Mithun Chakraborty. While she didn’t outright deny having a relationship with Akshay, she vociferously shut down such speculation about her and Mithun, as well as Nana. She said that the both of them are too senior to be spoken about in such a manner, and that these rumours created embarrassing situations between them. In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, she also spoke about the rumour that Manisha Koirala walked out of her relationship with Nana Patekar because of the alleged affair that he had with her.
She said, “If you open the tabloids of that time, I was linked with everybody. We were just friends, and we had a fun relationship. When you do six or seven films together, you’re meeting each other on set every third day… At that age, it’s naivety… I have more boy friends than girl friends even now, but that doesn’t mean you have to be romantically associated with them. In today’s time, what is there to hide? We’ve crossed that age…”
She said that live-in relationships and love marriages are very common these days, and that discussing such things feels ‘primitive’. But she didn’t go into detail about whether the rumours about Akshay were true. She did, however, admit that there was a certain attraction between them. “There could’ve been an attraction, but that’s normal. It wasn’t something underlined or defined… If you’re talking about physical attraction, I don’t think that’s the right way to describe it. We’ve always had that fondness, but I don’t think ‘physical attraction’ is the nice way to put it,” she said.
Ayesha said that she doesn’t dwell on this chapter of her life, and that she has moved on. She did, however, deny having any sort of relationship with her seniors Mithun Chakraborty and Nana Patekar. “It’s ridiculous,” she said. Asked if the rumours of Manisha Koirala dumping Nana because of her are true, she said, “It didn’t have anything to do with an affair. We did a photoshoot together, and then I did a play with him. But again, look at the seniority. I understand (being linked up) with co-stars my age, but I hate to talk about people who are (older). I have nothing to do with (Manisha walking out on him).”
About the Mithun rumours, she said, “It’s very embarrassing (to be linked up) with an iconic senior actor… He would also treat me like a kid.” In the same interview, Ayesha spoke about her relationship with Armaan Kohli, and admitted that she has erased that chapter of her life and doesn’t deem him worthy of being discussed.
