Hey, thanks for playing! This is a jam entry, after the voting ends there will be a patch with some balancing stuff and next month I pretend to make a larger update for a steam release

This entry really moved me, the writing and atmosphere were great and I got a visceral, almost nostalgic feeling from the short story. There is indeed so much to do and we can easily get caught up in the banalities of day to day life, even if today could be our last day. Great work, I loved it :)

That was actually very fun, good job :)
I don't know why, but the music had me chuckling from time to time, I think it adds a hint of insanity to the whole coffee pursuit ordeal

Is the black rectangle thing just on the web version? I really wanted to play and rate this but I can't quite understand what is happening without the proper sprites.

I tried to leave a very tiny bit of storytelling with the final boss. I hope at least someone hasn't instantly vaporized them before reading their name or looking at their sprite :')

Great visuals and audio. Overall super solid entry, great job!

If the game wasn't so cute and beautiful I would have 100% punched a hole through my screen trying to move these packages around. 10/10

I loved the music, it's so good I stopped fighting just to listen to it. The visuals are great as always and the gameplay is satisfying, reminds me of Hyperlight. Good job :)

The work is important and mysterious.

I couldn't quite figure out how to equip units and items, but I had fun nonetheless, good job

I had some trouble moving the shapes, but it was fun. Good job :)
Now, my biggest question: why 86-0?

Hey! I won't rate this entry because I wasn't able to play it, but I think your web only audio problem might be related to the "Default Playback Type.web" setting. Maybe try this:

Glad to see someone else thought about RNG manipulation for the theme. Good job!

Good job! The sound design especially is very good
I have some advice: the first time you load and instantiate something in your game, it can cause lag spikes or even freezing. Next time, you can make a script that instanciates all your particles, enemies, etc at the start of the game and deletes all of them to avoid that.

Oh don't worry, that's a feature. If you played with the random items modifier, then it is very possible to get infinite combos like that. You can spam "halt items" on the bottom-right corner to stop infinite loops, no need to restart the run (most of the times).

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I saw the VOD later as I had to leave just as you started playing the game. If I was there, I would've recommended not using all the random modifiers for your very first run. They are really fun, but make the game super broken and chaotic.

I'm glad you had fun :)

I considered limiting item triggers per turn, but my first idea was to have enemies have triggers as well (reactions) to counter specific player builds. I decided to cut this feature to focus on other aspects, but I'll try it out later to see how the game feels.

My main goal was for the player to need to become unbeatable to beat the final rooms, but as the game stands enemies have no way to counter infinite (or almost infinite) builds.

Random items is very broken, I hope it was fun xD

Hey! To target enemies you just need to click them - a red arrow will appear next to their health bar to indicate they are the current target - but you need to have items that work together to deal damage.

Your starting item every run deals damage every other time you reroll a number, so that is your primary source of damage early game.

Oh yeah, I just forgot to reroll items after each fight. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, I'll give this a look, thanks for the feedback and sorry for the soft-lock

There is a link to Slice&Dice's steam page in the description, this game is basically a tribute

lol

I'll look into it, thanks for the feedback

Thanks!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it :)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
I had very little time to playtest all the classes and balance encounters, so I'm really glad you enjoyed the game's difficulty :)

Cantrip runs are the best. I tweaked a few things for a post jam patch that made them even more satisfying :)

Holy, 513 block? Thanks for playing and for the feedback, I'm really glad you had fun :)
And yes, there are 27 classes (originally it was supposed to be 39, but I removed same type tier 2 combinations)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had fun :)
Gambler dice is a bit overtuned, but its a lot o fun

Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback :)

How much is there after the desert? I'll try to get to the final boss later

I had 20 something wood. Beavers come. Think "maybe I'll just ignore them and finish the bridge". Beavers steal all my wood. Bad. I'm in trouble. Take a lot of time killing beavers. Can't repair caravan, can't gather food because I need wood. Reach the desert. Die of starvation. 10/10

Really good entry, very cozy and easy to get into. I think more animations and some juice would be a nice touch, but that does't take away from the game as it stands. I really liked the tutorial, options and sound design. Music and backgrounds are very good and chill and the game is really well balanced.

The only "negative" thing I would say is that I don't think it ties well to the theme, but that is something I struggled with my entry as well, so take that with a grain of salt.

My take away is: you guys did a very very good job. Congrats :)

I loved this game, it's very fun and challenging. You nailed the audio and aesthetics, and that intro was a very nice touch. I thought I would have a hard time playing on keyboard, but I really liked the control scheme. Great job :)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you had fun :)

Slice&Dice is a much more complete (and really really good) experience, for sure. I've never seen any other dice game like it, so it was very difficult for me to steer away from it. I really tried to give it my own spin, but I felt the need to clarify I took heavy inspiration from it anyway.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you had a good time

I really wanted to add a compendium, but I felt it would take too much time. The game freezing is just the particles loading (I forgot to do it at the start of the game). I'm fixing some stuff for a post jam update. Probably not gonna work on this for a while after that.

Thanks for playing! I forgot to load all the VFX at the start of the game, so when you first get poisoned or burned (or anything that spawns particles) the game freezes for a few moments. My bad

Thank you so much for the feedback! I wonder how many people bought it after playing my game. I recommended it in most of the comments... maybe I should ask for commissions?

Jokes aside, thanks for pointing out what you liked about my game and design choices compared to Slice&Dice. I think you are right about the assets, I should have made them more distinct. At first glance, it really looks like the assets from S&D. I'll redraw them after the jam.

We love rogue in this house
