How do brands understand what their customers need and deliver personalized experiences? With consumers interacting with brands across websites, apps, and social media, bringing all this scattered data together into a complete customer profile is a big challenge. A Customer Data Platform (CDP) helps by collecting data from various sources, cleaning it up, and unifying it into a single customer view. This gives brands a panoramic picture of their customers, including behaviors, purchase history, and past interactions. However, implementing a CDP isn’t easy. Challenges include integrating data from different sources, independent departmental systems making collaboration difficult, and managing costs. Jason Hsieh, a Martech and SaaS expert, shared his mindset : “A Customer Success Manager is 60% an insider for the customer and 40% an outsider within their own company. So that we can align both sides and reduce barriers as possible as we can. I published a Korean product review of the Microsoft Surface Pro 11th Edition for Business 5G, which will be available in the Korean market from the first week of November 2024, on my blog yesterday. This product is my personal product, which I ordered last month and received three weeks ago through Surface ADR in Korea. I really liked the powerful computing and AI performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, and the battery performance is so good that I can use it as my main device when I go on a business trip or workcation. ARM64 native applications are increasing, and there are more and more cases where applications are improved to work well in the ARM64 environment even though they are x64 apps, so I think the range of applications will expand over time. I tested it myself by opening 5G/LTE lines of Korean mobile carriers, and in the case of SKT, the speed has improved, and in the case of KT, APN presets have been provided through Windows Update recently, making setup more convenient. The company plans to achieve this by increasing the number of new graduates and mid-career hires from universities in Asia and other regions. While some Japanese companies have started appointing foreign nationals to executive and managerial positions, Fast Retailing's goal stands out as particularly ambitious. To support its global business strategy, Fast Retailing will establish its main headquarters in both Japan and the United States. This move is aimed at strengthening its management team to oversee everything from store operations to development, procurement, and IT on a global scale. The need for executive talent extends beyond store operations into various fields, with the number of managerial positions reaching 2,144 as of the end of August 2023. Among them, the proportion of foreign nationals is already at 56%. The company also aims to increase the proportion of executive officers who are foreign nationals to 40% by around fiscal year 2030. To cultivate future managerial talent, Fast Retailing is expanding its collaborations with universities worldwide. Japanese companies, especially in manufacturing, are facing performance challenges. While factors like a weak yen, rising raw material costs, and sluggish demand in the Chinese market are often cited, what about product and service pricing? Setting prices appropriately brings companies the right revenue and healthy profits. Ultimately, the purpose of a company is to create customers. Profits created with customers return to them in meaningful ways. For us as consumers, reflecting on pricing is to consider the circulation of the economy.
