  • At Riverwood Communications, we believe great storytelling goes beyond PR. It’s about capturing real experiences that connect with people. Our work with Hemingways Eden Residence’s African-themed High Tea for International Women’s Day last month is a perfect example. High Tea has grown from its British origins into a much-loved tradition at luxury hotels in Kenya. For this special event, we invited journalists to experience how Hemingways Eden Residence has made it uniquely African, blending local flavors, warm hospitality, and a strong sense of community. Our role? Making sure the story wasn’t just about tea and pastries but about how brands can create meaningful experiences that resonate. Through media partnerships and engaging content, we helped turn this gathering into a story worth sharing. Read more about the experience here: https://lnkd.in/dtXnc9YG As we move into April, our focus shifts to 'Travel', exploring how high-end hospitality brands like Hemingways elevate guest experiences through immersive, culturally rich offerings. Looking for a partner to tell your brand’s story in a way that feels real and memorable? Let’s talk. We don’t just create visibility; we craft stories that leave a lasting impact. • Traveling is exciting, but it can take a toll on your health if you're not mindful. Long flights, disrupted routines, and unfamiliar environments can leave you feeling exhausted. However, with a few intentional habits, you can prioritize wellness and fully enjoy your journey. Staying hydrated is essential while traveling. Whether you’re flying, on a road trip, or exploring a new city, dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, and even jet lag. Always carry a reusable water bottle and make a conscious effort to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Similarly, prioritizing nutritious meals will keep your energy levels up. While it’s tempting to indulge in every local delicacy, try to maintain a balance by incorporating fruits, vegetables, and proteins into your diet. Sleep is another crucial factor in maintaining wellness on the go. Adjusting to different time zones or staying up late to explore can easily throw off your routine. If you’re traveling across time zones, try adjusting your sleep schedule a few days before departure to ease the transition. Short naps and exposure to natural light can also help regulate your body clock. Lastly, movement is key to feeling your best while traveling. Simple habits like stretching during flights, taking walking tours instead of taxis, or doing quick morning workouts in your hotel room can keep your body active. By staying hydrated, eating well, getting enough rest, and staying active, you can make the most of your adventures while keeping your health in check. After all, the best way to enjoy a trip is to feel your best throughout! ✨ #TravelWellness #AprilAdventures #TravelMore #April #RiverwoodCommunications #BetterCommunications #PR

  • For over seven years, Linah wambui has used her lens to document stories of resilience, transformation, and hope. Her work takes her to places of devastation and recovery, capturing the strength of individuals rebuilding from loss or forging new paths. "I don’t just capture moments, I tell the stories of real people, their struggles, their victories, and the quiet strength that often goes unseen." Her storytelling is driven by three words: Hope. Endless Opportunities. Resilience. Whether documenting young girls in Mathare defying adversity, Maasai women reclaiming their independence through beekeeping, or women in the slums working tirelessly to provide for their families, she ensures their voices are heard. "I use my lens as a tool that puts women at the center of their own narratives, inspiring change beyond their communities." One of her most powerful moments behind the camera? Photographing teen moms recovering from addiction, building gabions to protect their community from floods. Another? Witnessing Maasai men breaking cultural norms to open up about mental health. "Storytelling has the power to challenge deeply rooted beliefs and start new conversations." If she could turn back time, Linah would capture the Mothers of Political Prisoners in 1992, who camped at Uhuru Park’s Freedom Corner, demanding democracy. Their resilience paved the way for today's Gen-Z activists fighting for human rights. Her advice? "Listen before you shoot, understand before you frame. Every image holds a story- it’s our job to make sure it’s seen." #SYWTB #Photography #IWD #RiverwoodCommunications #BetterCommunication #PR

  • Cinematography is more than just capturing beautiful images- it’s about shaping emotions, telling truths, and bringing stories to life. For Brian Obra, a Director of Photography, working in documentaries has been an eye-opening journey, especially when telling women’s stories. “As a male filmmaker, it’s always a learning experience,” he shares, emphasizing that the best approach is to let the subject lead the way. Some of his most powerful frames were captured during last year's protests, moments filled with raw, unfiltered emotion. “Every frame is a quick but deep conversation in my head—what will not only look good but tell the truest story?” he says. This understanding came with time. Early in his career, he believed that striking visuals made a great film. But the real lesson? If the audience isn’t talking about the cinematography, then you’ve done your job right. “A shot might be stunning, but if it doesn’t serve the story, it breaks the scene.” If given the chance, he would have loved to collaborate with the late Frank Ashiruka, founder of Africa Post Office, whose work and impact were monumental. But at the heart of it all, his approach remains simple yet profound: “Story first.” Technical precision is important, but only in service of the narrative. “The visuals guide the audience, but the story has to be strong enough to be seen.” For aspiring Directors of Photography, his advice is clear: Master the craft, but never lose sight of the story. #SYWTB #Photography #IWD #RiverwoodCommunications #BetterCommunication #PR

  • Women are constantly juggling multiple roles—career, family, personal growth—yet burnout is real. To accelerate towards gender equality, we must acknowledge that wellness is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Wellness Tips for Women in Leadership & Growth: 📌Set Boundaries – Say no to overcommitment. Protect your time and energy. 📌Rest Without Guilt – You don’t have to “earn” rest. Recharge so you can show up as your best self. 📌Break the Superwoman Myth – Seeking support doesn’t make you weak. Delegate, ask for help, and build a support system. 📌Daily Mindfulness Practices – Take 10 minutes to meditate, journal, or simply breathe. These moments ground you. 📌Move Your Body – A walk, yoga, or gym session isn’t just for fitness—it’s for mental clarity and stress relief. Women thrive when they prioritize themselves. If women want to lead, succeed, and make change, they must show up whole, healthy, and energized. How do you care for your wellness? Please share so that we can learn from each other. #WellnessWednesday #AccelerateForEquality #WomenWhoThrive #IWD2025 #RiverwoodCommunications #BetterCommunication #PR
