Furthering its commitment to kid-friendly entertainment, WWE is launching a new, weekly half-hour series, WWE Saturday Morning Slam, which will premiere on Saban Brands’ new Vortexx block on The CW.
The new series will bow in the 10 a.m. time slot when Vortexx officially launches on Saturday, August 25. Featuring in-ring action, WWE superstar profiles, behind-the-scenes footage, an exclusive WWE match every week, and highlights from WWE’s Be a STAR anti-bullying campaign, WWE Saturday Morning Slam marks the first time since 2001 that WWE will have a program in a kids’ time slot.
The new Saturday morning kids block, running from 7 a.m. to noon, was officially announced in July and is expected to reach 114 million US households. The multi-platform brand will also launch online offerings at www.myvortexx.com and provide mobile content.
Hit series including Power Rangers and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other yet-to-be-announced action/adventure and comedy series, will anchor the block previously owned by 4Kids Entertainment and dubbed The CW4Kids Toonzai block.
