HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A new Hamilton County Commissioner is taking office.
Democrat Alicia Reece was elected in November to fill the seat previously held by the late Todd Portune.
She took the oath of office Saturday afternoon at New Prospect Baptist Church in Roselawn.
She previously served as a Cincinnati city councilmember and vice mayor.
Saturday, she spoke about her plans to start an economic recovery task force.
"People are hurting," Commissioner Reece said. "They're going to be dealing with evictions. They're dealing with property taxes going up. They're dealing with how they're going to pay their sewer bill, all those kinds of things. So we want to come together to form a task force that we can find a way to cut the cost to the person, where we can give the citizen a break."
She joins fellow Democrats Stephanie Dumas and Board President Denise Driehaus.
