On our #PositivityHackDelivered episode 178, Tina Schermer Sellers PhD shared her favorite #LifeLessonQuotes—words that inspire presence and purpose. The first quote is from Henry Miller: ‘The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware—joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.’ I love this quote because it’s an invitation to presence—to truly pay attention. It reminds us not to dwell in the past or worry about the future, but to fully embrace the here and now. The words he uses—aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware—are so powerful in capturing that essence. The second is from Henri Nouwen: ‘Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear fruit in this world and in the life to come.’ I find this quote deeply grounding—it’s a guide on how to live. If we all embraced this mindset, humanity would thrive. We would create an environment where people feel safe to grow, discover, and truly be themselves." Missed this inspiring episode? A recent study shows that airlines with more women in leadership roles are more efficient, especially when adapting to challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic. Women in executive positions drive innovative, balanced decision-making, strengthening resilience and long-term strategy. The research conducted by Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and the University of Edinburgh, analyzed 45 airline groups across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. It found that increasing female representation in management could boost capacity management efficiency by 1.9% and improve sustainability by up to 3.2%. By meeting the IATA's target of at least 25% women on executive teams and boards, airlines could realize these efficiency gains. The study underscores how gender diversity fosters imaginative, comprehensive decision-making, particularly in uncertain times.
