What makes us excited about the future of LemFi? Ridwan Olalere, founder of LemFi, was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur at our 100th in-person International Selection Panel last September, joining the fewer than 2% of companies chosen from of all candidates. Here's why he stood out: 🚀 Ridwan’s journey embodies the #MultiplierEffect: His experience at Flutterwave (an Endeavor Entrepreneur company) inspired him to build LemFi, and already, LemFi has helped launch new startups like GeekPay. 🧱 Since launching in 2021, Ridwan has built everything in-house with impressive vision, planning, and hiring. 🌍 LemFi has already grown to 1M+ users in diaspora communities across Europe and North America, who send a combined $1B to emerging markets monthly. 📈 Today, with their recent $53M Series B funding and a vision to become the first full-stack financial hub for the global south, they’re just getting started. In my conversations with Tage Kene-Okafor, Caleb Maru, Sophie Schmidt, Timothy Motte, Michele Wanjiku and Mide Alonge, what many times comes up is how Africa should be much more present in the global tech conversations. I mean Paysend, InstaDeep and Tyme are three very clear examples of excellence. 🌍 Last week when Achille AROUKO published Bujeti (YC W23)’s map of “Africans Building Tech”, I was psyched to see so many Endeavor entrepreneur-led companies. I believe it’s 17 out of the 41 on the map.🎉 From Sophia Alj (Chari | YC S21 | Ecom and Fintech apps for retailers in Francophone Africa) to Olugbenga Agboola (Flutterwave), and from Vinny Lingham (Civic Technologies), to Belal EL-Megharbel (MaxAB) and Noureddine Tayebi (Yassir).🚀 Huge congrats to Endeavor Nigeria 🇳🇬, Endeavor South Africa 🇿🇦, Endeavor Kenya 🇰🇪, Endeavor Morocco 🇲🇦, Endeavor Tunisia 🇹🇳 and Endeavor Egypt 🇪🇬 for a combined 60+ years on the ground betting on Africa!! 🙏

Why did LemFi join the Endeavor network? Fewer than 2% of companies are selected to join Endeavor, and LemFi has set itself apart as a true rocket ship. 🚀 Founded by Ridwan Olalere and co-founder Rian Cochran, LemFi redefines remittance for diaspora communities. With over one million registered users across Europe and North America, the platform processes $1 billion monthly in remittance flows, serving markets in Africa, Asia, and beyond. This week, LemFi announced its $53 million Series B raise led by Highland Europe, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst. This funding will power LemFi's vision to create a full-stack financial services hub for the global south while continuing to expand its reach into new markets like India, China, and Pakistan. When our international selection panel, including Guillaume Pousaz (Founder and CEO of Checkout.com), evaluated LemFi, they saw a market-making fintech company with strong leadership, a scalable model, and a clear growth strategy. More importantly, they saw an entrepreneur building something truly transformative. More than just a company, LemFi represents the next wave of African fintech innovation. Ridwan’s entrepreneurial journey–from building products at Flutterwave and OPay to creating LemFi, exemplifies the Endeavor Multiplier Effect—inspiring and mentoring the next generation of game-changing founders. 🚀 Exciting news from LemFi! Co-founders Ridwan Olalere (an Endeavor Entrepreneur) and Rian Cochran have raised $53M in Series B funding, led by Highland Europe, with participation from Left Lane Capital, Palm Drive Capital, Endeavor Catalyst and Y Combinator. LemFi, the financial platform for immigrant communities, serves 1M+ active users and processes an impressive $1B+ in monthly transactions, connecting families and communities across 20+ countries. This funding will fuel its global expansion, including a recent launch in Europe, and strengthen its hyper-localized services for diaspora communities worldwide. This milestone also celebrates Ridwan’s inspiring journey as an Endeavor Entrepreneur, selected at the 100th International Selection Panel in Dublin (September 2024). Fun fact: This is Endeavor Catalyst’s 6th investment in Nigeria, a testament to our commitment to backing transformative businesses across Africa! 🌍 Congratulations to the LemFi team for shaping the future of financial services for immigrants worldwide.
