Durapower Holdings Pte Ltd and EST Floattech held a joint networking session “Powering Asia Pacific’s Maritime Decarbonisation” at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore yesterday, where they discussed powering the maritime decarbonisation within the Asia Pacific region, besides Singapore. Our Octopus battery pack was also on display during the event, with over two dozen guests from the Asia-Pacific maritime industry in attendance, and we look forward to more such collaborations with EST Floattech in the future. #marineindustry #marineelectrification #batterysolutions #circulareconomy #sustainability #EVBoats #batterysolutions #DPPulse #decarbonization

From Singapore to Rotterdam — we're out there, meeting the industry. No matter how fast technology develops, how strongly governments push for sustainability or how ambitious climate goals become on paper, it all starts with the people and companies. That’s why we’re attending exhbitions, key conferences and visit companies to connect, to listen, and to share what we’re working on. The Octopus Series battery system is applicable for all types of vessels, sailing profiles and systems up to multiple MWh. During the conferences we will present different use cases in which our type approved energy storage solution is being used. Will you be there too? Let us know, we’d be happy to meet. #MaritimeEvents #conferences #MaritimeBatteries #OctopusSeries

Two weeks ago we successfully commissioned the battery system on board the MPV Laura, a hybrid, multi-purpose, ice-class vessel for the Freeport of Riga. Built in cooperation by Baltic Workboats Ltd and Damen Shipyards, powered by a hybrid system with Octopus Series modules, integrated by Baumüller Nürnberg GmbH. This system on board of 𝗠𝗣𝗩 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 is designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions. This innovative vessel sets a benchmark for sustainable operations in challenging ice conditions. Another great partnership, and together, we are making progress in greener maritime technology. We are proud to see the successful integration of our High Energy Battery System on the E-Cat, a sustainable vessel delivered to AG Reederei Norden-Frisia. Thanks for the partnership Royal Van der Leun and Damen - collaborations like this highlight importance of innovative thinking and sustainable energy solutions for the maritime sector. By powering vessels like the E-Cat, we're helping to reduce emissions and drive the transition to cleaner maritime operations. Royal Van der Leun is proud to announce the successful delivery of the innovative electric ferry for AG Reederei Norden-Frisia, built at Damen. The ferry, known as the Damen Fast Ferry (FFE) 3209 or E-Cat Ferry, measures 32 meters in length and 9 meters in width. It is designed to carry 150 passengers between Norddeich and the island of Norderney. With a shallow draft of just 1.2 meters, it is ideally suited for navigating the German Wattenmeer, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ferry combines advanced technology with environmental sustainability, reducing travel time to just one hour while adhering to a maximum speed of 16 knots. Royal Van der Leun played a key role in delivering and integrating various advanced systems essential for the ferry’s operation. These included the own energy management systems, electrical installations, safety solutions, and a state-of-the-art charging infrastructure. 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 In addition to the ferry, Royal Van der Leun also designed and installed the electrical systems for the jetty. This innovative charging solution enables the ferry to fully recharge in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. The entire process of electrical and integration systems, from design and installation to commissioning, was managed to meet Lloyd’s Register certification requirements and ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability. This project highlights our commitment to sustainable maritime innovation and the preservation of the unique ecosystem of the Wattenmeer. We extend our sincere thanks to Damen Shipyards, AG Reederei Norden-Frisia, and all our dedicated colleagues for their trust, hard work, and collaboration in bringing this ambitious project to life. #royalvanderleun #electricalmarinesystems #thepowerofsustainability #sustainable #electric #ferry #maritime #energy #damenshipyards #frisia #eferry #jetty

KG. The vessel, built by Baltic Workboats Ltd, is equipped with our maritime-certified #battery system, which contributes to the city's goals of reducing emissions and dependence on fossil fuels and shaping a greener future for maritime operations. We wish the Port of Hamburg a green start to 2025 with this hybrid patrol vessel! #EnergyStorage #Sustainability #HybridPropulsion #Hamburg
#PORTnews 🎅 Santa came early this year for the Flotte Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG... Today, we celebrated the arrival of the first hybrid police boat in the Port of Hamburg, the WS1 “Bürgermeister Brauer”! This cutting-edge vessel marks the beginning of a greener future for the Hamburg Police Fleet and reinforces the city’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2040. After almost two years of construction at Baltic Workboats AS in Estonia, the 29.4-metre-long vessel, equipped with a state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid propulsion system, was delivered by sea to Hamburg. At the ceremony at the Überseebrücke, key stakeholders including Senator for Economics and Innovation Dr. Melanie Leonhard, Jens Meier (CEO, Hamburg Port Authority (HPA)), and Karsten Schönewald (CEO, Flotte Hamburg) joined to welcome this landmark achievement. “Through modern technologies, we reduce emissions. The new ships bring us closer to our climate goals and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.”, stated Dr. Melanie Leonhard. 🔋 Sustainability in action, the key facts: - two 500 kW electric motors enabling two hours of purely electric travel at seven knots. - a streamlined wave-piercing bow for stability in rough seas. - a synthetic, eco-friendly GTL fuel for further emission reduction. This new vessel will replace the ageing “Bürgermeister Brauer” and support the Hamburg Water Police in maintaining security and safety in the port, on the Lower Elbe, and in Germany’s coastal waters – all with a sharp focus on environmental responsibility. And: The WS1 “Bürgermeister Brauer” is just the beginning. In early 2025, the fleet will expand with the WS3 “Bürgermeister Weichmann” and another WS1-type vessel, driving innovation while meeting Hamburg's specific operational needs. 📷 HPA / Andreas Schmidt-Wiethoff, HHM / Hirsch
