95% of medical specialists say poor access to patient data is affecting their work, and 48% experience it every single day—according to a new survey by the Dutch Federation of Medical Specialists (Federatie Medisch Specialisten). The survey also reported: 📉 95% lose valuable time due to unavailable data 📋 89% cite rising admin burden 💰 66% say it leads to unnecessary healthcare costs 😓 65% report lower job satisfaction ⚠️ And worst of all—patient safety is at risk While this report focuses on the Netherlands, these are common frustrations globally. Healthcare professionals everywhere are struggling with fragmented systems, data silos, and outdated technology that make it harder—not easier—to deliver quality care. This isn’t just an IT problem—it’s a patient safety problem. The Federation’s call to action? A national strategy for data interoperability, secure and user-friendly access, and accountability from tech vendors, hospitals, and government alike. CQL might be the key—but how many are actually using it? 🤔 Last week, we asked how familiar you are with Clinical Quality Language (CQL), and the results are in! While it's positive to see almost a quarter of respondents using it actively, over half of the respondents have either never heard of it or have heard of it but are not yet using it.
