  • Struggling with quality measures, decision support, or healthcare analytics? CQL might be the key—but how many are actually using it? 🤔 Last week, we asked how familiar you are with Clinical Quality Language (CQL), and the results are in! While it's positive to see almost a quarter of respondents using it actively, over half of the respondents have either never heard of it or have heard of it but are not yet using it. It's clear that CQL is still uncharted territory for many. With CQL playing a key role in prior authorization, digital quality measures (dQMs), and clinical decision support—and US regulatory deadlines coming up—now is the time to familiarize yourself with it and how it can help your organization. 💡 If you’re in the "heard of it, not used" or "never heard of it" camp, check out our recent webinar where expert panelists (Evan Machusak, Ewout Kramer, Rich Almeida & Mathew Osmanski) give an overview of CQL and quality measures, explore real-world use cases (e.g. analytics, clinical decision support), and discuss what lies ahead 👉 https://lnkd.in/ecsk-jYK 💬 What’s holding you back from using CQL? Let’s discuss! 👇 #FHIR #CQL #QualityMeasures #dQM #Interoperability

🔥 Making FHIR modeling work with Simplifier.net at Firely 🔥 Head of programming at FHIR DevDays

Back in 2017, we introduced the concept of 𝗙𝗛𝗜𝗥 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 at FHIR DevDays. Since then they’ve become the go-to standard for grouping and managing FHIR resources. A year later, we launched the first-ever FHIR Package Server in Simplifier.net. And today, thousands of packages have been published for different jurisdictions. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚… Many FHIR specifications are public, but not everything should be. Many organizations invest time, effort, and money into developing health data models, clinical guidelines, or terminology sets—and sharing them too early (or at all) isn’t always an option. We’ve supported 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗛𝗜𝗥 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 for a while, but until now, their use was limited. You couldn’t build on top of other private packages and managing them effectively was tricky. That changes today! 🚀 💡 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗛𝗜𝗥 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.   What does this mean for you? ✅ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 – Organize your private FHIR packages into feeds and decide who gets access. No more messy workarounds! ✅ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 – You can now stack private packages inside a feed, allowing for true modular development without exposing sensitive data. ✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 – Use private packages as part of your FHIR implementation guides, validation processes, and other workflows without limitations.   Key Changes to Know for our Simplifier users 👇 🔹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀! – Each team with private packages now has its own package feed. Projects using private packages must select a feed for fetching dependencies and publishing packages. 🔹 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀? 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲! – You can no longer publish private packages from a public Simplifier project. If you need to share public work for review, consider prerelease packages (e.g., 1.0.0-beta). Or release from a private project instead. 🔹 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴! – Private package publishing & installation via Firely Terminal is temporarily unavailable. But don’t worry—a new version will fully support package feeds soon! Until then, you can download private packages via the UI and install them manually. 🚀 Want to showcase your private FHIR packages to the world? Check out the FHIR Marketplace (https://lnkd.in/eAgr95Tk) and make your solutions discoverable! Have questions? Reach out — I am happy to help! 🙌 #FHIR #Interoperability #PrivateFHIRPackages #FHIRPackages #Simplifier #Firely

  • Key takeaways from ViVE 2025 🚀 ViVE 2025 was a whirlwind of conversations, insights, and game-changing innovations—and one thing was clear: FHIR is driving real progress in solving healthcare’s biggest challenges. Here’s what stood out: 🚦 Prior authorization is still a major roadblock With Medicare Advantage claim denials up 56% in a year, inefficiencies are more apparent than ever. But FHIR-powered automation is reshaping prior auth, and the appetite for seamless payer-provider workflows has never been stronger—and one we’re committed to supporting with our CMS-compliant prior auth solutions. 📊 Quality measures & compliance are evolving fast Keeping up with CMS, HEDIS, and custom measures is a constant struggle—but the shift to digital quality measures (dQMs) is gaining momentum. We were excited to demo our new digital quality measures solution, Firely dQM, which helps organizations simplify compliance by leveraging FHIR and CQL for real-time, accurate reporting. 🏛️ FHIR is the bridge between government & industry Sessions like Aneesh Chopra’s "Grabbing the FHIR Baton" reminded us of an interesting point—industry adoption of FHIR actually preceded federal mandates. Why? Because the industry wanted better interoperability even before regulation came into play. However, equally important is the government’s role in driving change not just for the innovators, but for the whole sector. Another exciting development is the shift toward digital identity and patient access, and it’s a space to watch. 🔥 The takeaway? FHIR is here to stay, and it’s solving problems that have plagued healthcare for years. 🔎 Full reflections here: https://lnkd.in/e4ZmyKDJ What stood out to you at ViVE? Let us know in the comments! #ViVE2025 #FHIR #Interoperability #PriorAuthorization #DigitalQualityMeasures #CQL
