Global food security can only be achieved in partnership. 🤝 The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has played an important role in connecting project partners and providing funding through the Sustainable Development Goals Partnership (SDGP). ✅ One region where these partnerships are making a difference is Madhya Pradesh, India, where many people face malnutrition and unhealthy diets. Suresh Motwani from Solidaridad Asia is part of an important partnership that aims to address this issue while helping small-scale farmers earn a higher income. Through the SDGP project, Suresh explains how this partnership gives farmers the knowledge and tools to improve their food security and livelihoods. By teaching them how to grow soybeans and prepare healthy meals, the project helps promote better diets in the community. 🍽️🥦 #foodsecurity #India

We take this opportunity to highlight how the Netherlands contributes to “water security and safety for people, plants, and animals worldwide” a core objective of the Dutch International Water Ambition (NIWA). The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN) outlines its international efforts to turn NIWA’s objectives into reality, while also advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainable agriculture can, and does, contribute positively to these ambitions. LVVN’s international initiatives are intertwined with the Dutch national spatial planning and climate adaptation policies. This way, the Netherlands Agricultural Network (LAN) builds on Dutch knowledge and know-how that balances short-term needs with long-term sustainability. 💧 Water is central to CYCLEe's mission, and understanding its significance amidst climate change is vital. 🌍 That's why we're delving into the latest insights from the European Environment Agency (EEA) report, which highlights the worsening impacts of climate change on water quality and human health across Europe. According to the report, floods, droughts, and declining water quality are posing increasingly serious threats to our well-being. It's alarming to learn that between 1980 and 2022, over 5,500 flood-related deaths and 702 wildfire-related deaths were recorded in Europe alone. As advocates for sustainability and environmental health, we believe it's essential to fast-track implementation and better coordinate efforts by governments, water authorities, and healthcare providers.
