‘A few months ago, I obtained Cory's services as a career mentor via the excellent NYPL service. I was having trouble defining certain aspects of my career search. As well as that, I wanted to review my approach to job applications. Cory's unbridled enthusiasm for assisting persons like myself was apparent from the offset. Without negating any of my efforts, he created a blank canvas for me, to which he poised some questions that a) clarified my intent and b) instilled great self-confidence. He then guided me towards a new strategy of contacting companies. And, for the first time since I started my search, I began to gain some traction. Throughout this process, Cory made himself readily available to help fine-tune what I was doing. Before I knew it, I was in the midst of the interview process, with Cory rallying behind me. Without question, Cory's advice helped me find my first job on US soil. I am indebted to the generosity and patience of Cory for enabling me to course-correct and guide myself to the destination. I am now very excited about my imminent future.’
