Sweden’s First Electric RDF Import Transport 🚛 For the first time in Sweden, electric trucks are now transporting imported Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), reducing emissions in waste logistics! Through a partnership between DFDS and GEMINOR, RDF shipments from the UK are now delivered to Borås Energi och Miljö AB using fully electric trucks—a milestone in sustainable transport. Geminor Was the UK’s Largest RDF Exporter in 2024: What’s Next for the UK Market in 2025/2026? The latest RDF Activity Report from Footprint Services confirms that Geminor led the UK RDF export market in 2024, exporting 364,581 tonnes of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) and achieving a 23% year-on-year growth. In 2024, Geminor handled around 2.4 million tonnes of waste across Europe, maintaining stable volumes while expanding into new markets. We saw a 78.4% increase in SRF handling, as well as strong growth in plastic and hazardous waste streams.
