Check out the 2025 report from the Global Commission on Evidence. It highlights key achievements and focuses on how we can further improve the use of evidence to tackle today’s social challenges.

This week we hosted the mid-point meeting for the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaborative (ESIC) planning process in London over two days. It was such a privilege to facilitate this meeting with colleagues from around the world working to identify ways in which we can boldly transform the way we deliver more reliable, trustworthy evidence. We had global experts, early career researchers, funders, representatives from the UN and WHO, consultants in MEL, data science and economic analysis in the room and we had vibrant discussion about what we have achieved to date and what we need to do in the weeks ahead. It is not an easy road we are traveling but I certainly feel energised about what we can achieve together and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again in June for the consensus meeting in Cape Town, South Africa! Thank you to the Wellcome Trust for hosting us and empowering us with this opportunity to collaborate to generate real change in the global evidence ecosystem!

We're excited to announce (again*) that we are accepting abstracts for the 2025 Evidence to Action Conference and Exhibition! A new AI & Automation Methods Group is launching on 3rd June! The group is jointly run between the Cochrane Collaboration, the Campbell Collaboration, JBI and the Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE), and will help define and support responsible AI use across these four leading evidence synthesis organizations. What are the aims? ▪️ Spearhead methods research and development and act as a bridge between evidence synthesis organizations and the wider research community. ▪️Cochrane is launching a new AI & Automation Methods Group on 3rd June! Global conflict is at its highest level since the Second World War. On a daily basis, violent atrocities against civilians occur and are reported on. However, there is also a wealth of knowledge about the effectiveness of interventions and actions to prevent conflict and atrocity and promote sustainable peace. These include interventions to address ongoing conflicts, like peacekeeping operations, international law and diplomacy (e.g. sanctions), as well as programmes that aim to stop conflict occurring in the first place, including support for civil society and development assistance (international aid). We compiled and assessed the confidence in this knowledge in an evidence and gap map containing 600 studies about what works in violent conflict and atrocity prevention (CAP).
