Kurram District, Pakistan, stands at the crossroads of a devastating humanitarian disaster and a profound governance failure. The ongoing blockade of the Tall-Parachinar Road for over three months has plunged the region into chaos, highlighting the urgent need for action under Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16)—peace, justice, and strong institutions. The crisis in Kurram not only challenges the foundational principles of SDG 16 but also disrupts progress on multiple interconnected SDGs, such as SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and SDG 4 (Quality Education). Nowadays, every country including Pakistan in the world has taken cybersecurity as a serious concern due to the modern age of digital advancement. As it is constructing its digital infrastructure, the country faces many cyber security challenges that undermine its government institutions, businesses and citizens. This essay looks at current cybersecurity threats in Pakistan and gives measures that can be put in place to curb them. Pakistan experiences phishing attacks as one of the commonest cyber security threats.
