This methodology, developed by the VCM’s Technical Monitoring Committee (CTA), aims to strengthen carbon sequestration capacity, promote more resilient forests and landscapes, and deliver additional environmental, social, and economic co-benefits. VdA takes part in Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot The VII Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot, a preparatory moot court for the renowned Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the 32nd edition of which will take place in Vienna in April. The VII Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot is organised by the Under 40 Council of the Portuguese Arbitration Association and the Portuguese Arbitration Moot Association, of which Matilde Líbano Monteiro and Ricardo Ramos Lourenço are members respectively, in collaboration with other associations of young lawyers. Strategies for Traning and Retaining Talent Rui Diniz Miquelis co-wrote the article “Strategies for Training and Retaining Talent” with Ana Marisa Pardal from SHL Portugal. In this article, published by Revista Human, the authors highlight the crucial importance of retaining talent in the current labour context, which is marked by globalisation, digital transformation, and new employee expectations. To attract and retain qualified professionals, organisations must become more competitive by aligning their strategic objectives with their employees' needs. Rui Diniz Miquelis and Marisa Pardal emphasize the importance of empowering employees with technical skills (hard skills) and behavioural skills (soft skills) so that they can perform their functions efficiently and contribute to the organisation's success. The authors argue that "for successful and sustainable retention strategies, organisations must adapt them to their specific context, taking into account the characteristics of their workforce, their strategic objectives, and the challenges they face". VdA lectures at ‘A Digital Europe for Citizens’ training course Rui Gordete Almeida is lecturing at the 3rd edition of the hybrid course ‘A Digital Europe for Citizens’, organised by the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto (FDUP) and the Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar em Justiça (CIJ). The session, led by the VdA lawyer together with Graça Enes Ferreira (FDUP, CIJ), is entitled ‘Digital sovereignty in the European Union’ and will take place on 21 March. This course aims to raise participants' awareness of the challenges of increasing digitalisation, providing the necessary skills to mitigate the risks of this new digital age. Securitisation Law 2025 – Portugal | Chambers Global Practice Guides Benedita Aires and Orlando Vogler Guine contributed to the guide "Securitisation 2025 ’ published by Chambers and Partners in the Global Practice Guide segment. This legal guide offers a comparative analysis of legal practices in several jurisdictions. The VdA lawyers sign the chapter ‘Portugal: Law & Practice’, in which they analyse Portuguese legislation in the field of securitisation. In this analysis they address the latest developments in insolvency laws, special-purpose entities, the construction of bankruptcy-remote transactions, taxes and tax avoidance, accounting rules, disclosure laws or regulations, credit risk retention, rating agencies, the use of derivatives and synthetic securitisation. Paulo Pinheiro, Rodrigo Esteves de Oliveira, Ana Marta Castro, e Marco Caldeira representam a VdA no 2.º Congresso Angolano de Direito Administrativo, que se realiza a 25 e 26 de março, em Angola. Ana Marta Castro, como membro do Comité Científico do Congresso, participa na sessão solene de abertura da conferência. Adicionalmente, participa em duas mesas redondas. Na mesa-redonda dedicada à “Formação dos Contratos Públicos”, aborda o tema “O Reequilíbrio económico-financeiro dos contratos públicos”, destacando a importância deste mecanismo para assegurar a estabilidade e viabilidade dos contratos em cenários de alteração das condições iniciais.
