To facilitate the adoption of a standardized way to control access to content using signed tokens we have developed and open sourced a library for the new standard CTA Common Access Token (CTA-5007). It supports the basic claims today and more support will be added by us our the community around this. On top of this library we developed and open sourced a validation service that can be used as an authentication endpoint for an Nginx web server for example. Based on open source and the open protocol (Eyevinn Player Analytics Specification) you can add online video analytics without being locked in with a single vendor. All components in the video analytics pipeline and collectors are open source and the protocol between the collector and the pipeline is public. . Together with our Nordic broadcaster friends and Eyevinn Technology, we have developed a WebRTC-based intercom system that works in any web browser. We began discussions back in 2023, and since last summer, we have been using it in productions. At SVT we are far ahead in challenging our mindset and workflows, moving away from traditional, expensive hardware. It’s not an easy one to changing things like ”we have always done like this” but we are brave in our minds. Along the way, we identified new features we needed, which have been developed and added. As a result, we now have a self explained, flexible and intuitive system with fantastic audio quality, but we’re not done yet, we always find things to improve. This weekend, we used the system, which we internally call NeoCom for the Swedish Rally. In this video from my iPhone, you’ll see an overview of our setup from the rally production. Let’s keep pushing and developing!
