Final wrap-up at #MWC2025: As MWC 2025 draws to a close, we have a few immediate reflections to share with you!   The growing adoption of RedCap is gradually reshaping the cellular IoT landscape. Instead of the fragmented connectivity seen in 4G—with LTE-M and NB-IoT offering uneven availability in different regions—the trend now leans toward a unified approach, paving the way for a more cohesive IoT platform globally.   But no matter if it’s RedCap or traditional 4G, and whether it’s eSIM or iSIM, these IoT technologies are all enablers for companies' digital transformation journey where AI is sitting at the center stage. And AI is a catalyst that accelerate companies' digital transformation, which in turn will spur the need for smarter, more agile IoT solutions.   Moreover, the momentum behind satellite connectivity is undeniable. With growing investment and adoption, satellite services are on track to complement, and in some cases even offer a cost-efficient alternative to, cellular connectivity—especially in challenging, remote environments, where it is more likely to find an IoT device than a regular consumer that requires a reliable connection.   If you would like to hear more about our reflections from MWC25, don’t miss our upcoming webinar, “MWC 2025: Key IoT Takeaways,” on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 13:00–14:30 CET: https://lnkd.in/dPqsr_gH   #MWC2025 #IoT #5G #RedCap #eSIM #iSIM #DigitalTransformation #AI #SatelliteConnectivity #TelenorIoT Dominik Lindner Luciana Widengren Johan Larsson

  • Day 3 at #MWC2025 kicks off with GSMA IoT Summit where industry leaders shared insights on the future of IoT connectivity—from pioneering RedCap deployments to multi-bearer coverage (public, private, and satellite) aimed at providing seamless IoT connectivity across diverse networks.   Meanwhile, at the eSIM Summit, experts discussed how eSIM and iSIM technologies are revolutionizing operations with the latest GSMA IoT SIM specification—from factory installations to field deployments—enabling faster onboarding, greater flexibility, and robust security for both consumer and enterprise IoT. Essentially, these advancements mean easier and more secure large-scale IoT management as 5G evolves.   A big thank you to everyone who joined our session earlier today, “Conquering connectivity challenges in the age of software defined mobility.” We hope it sparked fresh ideas and interesting conversations. If you missed it, feel free to drop by the Telenor Group stand—we’d love to continue the conversation on how Telenor IoT can help you navigate the next wave of IoT innovation.   #MWC2025 #IoT #5G #RedCap #eSIM #AI #DigitalTransformation #TelenorIoT

  • Day 1 at #MWC25 Barcelona highlighted several emerging trends in IoT and Connected Cars—areas where Telenor IoT is closely involved. The conversations ranged from new 5G-Advanced capabilities for Massive IoT to notable connected car demonstrations. We’re seeing the industry increasingly focus on global, reliable IoT connectivity and innovative partnerships—key elements for Telenor IoT. Connected cars drew particular attention on day 1. When the GSMA Director General announced new collaborations with the automotive sector (including 5GAA), it emphasized how cars are becoming “IoT devices on wheels.” This signals a significant industry shift: while 87% of automotive IoT connections used 4G in 2024, forecasts point to 5G enabling growth from 598 million connections in 2024 to 1.3 billion by 2032 (Analysys Mason). Collaboration remains essential. Whether it’s telcos working with cloud providers or car manufacturers partnering with mobile operators, MWC shows that shared expertise often drives IoT innovation. The demo by the Automotive Edge Computing Consortium, featuring Toyota, underscored how connectivity, cloud, and industry know-how can converge to unlock new possibilities. For Telenor IoT, these themes are already in action. We connect millions of vehicles worldwide, from consumer cars to industrial fleets. The eSIM-enabled roaming and always-on telematics demonstrated at MWC are the types of challenges we address daily. Our global IoT SIM solutions help ensure connected cars and assets stay online across borders, supporting seamless connectivity, security, and low latency. See the video for Telenor IoT updates from the Telenor Group stand at MWC on day 1, and find links to the materials in the comments below! 🚀 #MWC25 #TelenorIoT #IoT #ConnectedCars #5GAdvanced
