🗺 How to tackle vacation policies in a multi-cultural company? We celebrate the myriad of cultural and religious diversity within our team at Moder.app. We cherish the value that diversity brings to our team dynamics and creativity. While Finnish law provides certain holidays, we recognize the importance of accommodating the diverse needs of our employees. Recently, I came across an inspiring example from If Insurance, who addressed a similar challenge through comprehensive research and collaboration with trade unions. While we may not yet have the same level of influence, we are committed to finding meaningful solutions within our capacity. Putting our money where our mouth is, we announced a new approach to vacation policies. In addition to our standard six weeks of vacation, we encourage all employees to utilize their vacation days to observe and celebrate important cultural and religious holidays. We will prioritize these requests to ensure that every team member feels empowered to honor their traditions and beliefs without hesitation. I believe this is just the beginning of our journey toward greater inclusivity. "My Webinar only got 30 signups 🙃 " A statement I hear quite a lot and is often perceived as a negative result. But ask yourself this: Is it really easier to get 30 sales dialogues booked on your calendar 🤔 ? Many companies try Webinars out and give up due to "dissapointing" results but I have to say I mostly see this going wrong from the "managing expectations" side rather than the actual result side. Think about it, you have 30 people in a virtual room that specifically tune-in to listen to the topic that resonates with them and you're an expert on. This is a great way to build trust which is paid back at the point where timing is right for that customer. You've displayed yourself as a key knowledge bearer of the subject that interests them and there is no safer feeling for buyers than knowing they buy from someone that understands what they care about! 😎 Go host some webinars 🚀

In a recent episode of Reccast 🎙️ we met with Pil Byriel, CEO and Co-Founder of Develop Diverse, a Danish software company that specializes in inclusive writing software for recruiters. 👀 Before we dive in further, a heads-up is in order: this episode will be a big eye-opener for most of us! 🚀 💡 Pil Byriel has a background in organizational communication and change management. Her interest in technology and human behavior research led her to explore how AI can be used to create more inclusive workplaces and hiring practices.   💡 Develop Diverse's solution focuses on understanding and addressing stereotypes and biases in language. The company's research covers various biases, such as those related to gender, age, ethnicity, physical disability, and neurodiversity. 💡 By analyzing how language influences behavior, Develop Diverse aims to create job ads that attract a diverse pool of candidates without excluding any group. 💡 The company integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into its AI strategies to ensure that its technology does not perpetuate existing biases. 🌟 For example, in a study comparing job ads written by humans and those generated by AI models like ChatGPT, it was found that AI-generated ads were significantly more biased. This highlights the importance of using AI responsibly and training it with the right data. 💡 According to Pil, one of the biggest challenges in recruitment is the reliance on job ads to attract candidates. Often, these ads are written by individuals lacking proper training, leading to the unintentional exclusion of potential candidates. Moreover, the job descriptions themselves may be outdated or stereotypical, further limiting the talent pool. ❗️ Companies need to invest more resources in creating effective job ads and understanding their recruitment challenges through data analysis. Status update! What's new with our recruitment firm, Lassi Lankinen and I? 🌍🌳 Another week has passed since our last update, so let's go over what we've accomplished. 😊 ⭐️ Last week, we launched our early bird offer! €8000 for a direct search before Christmas, including all tech, business, specialist, and leadership roles. ⭐️ Thanks to the offer and our LinkedIn visibility, we’ve received a few inbound leads 🙏 ⭐️ We've also set up some meetings from outbound messages ⭐️ We’ve decided on the name for the company! More on that soon 😎 ⭐️ We’ve talked a lot about how this journey of starting a company feels to us and how we can make it the best workplace possible. ⭐️ We’ve refined our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) significantly compared to before, and we’re quite happy with it now. ⭐️ We’ve developed the first version of our mission, vision, and values. ⭐️ As a result of the above, our value proposition is also starting to take shape 💪 ⭐️ We’ve each been posting at least five times a week on LinkedIn. Seek anger when reaching out to potential customers. Strange but true. Consider: CEOs, CFOs, MDs, investors. Bosses gonna be bosses. Wanna earn a conversation? Seek anger. Frustration or a part of the status quo they're annoyed with. Provoke Chief Marketing Officers. Daily. Tell them their baby is ugly, website is broken. Watch them respond -- telling you to back up the claim. The purpose of outreach is to find enough emotion to work with. Not book meetings, nor develop rapport or established if there's a problem to fix. None of that. What I'm describing is the difference between sales and marketing. Sellers provoke. Marketers ask for meetings, talk about problems they fix. Sellers seek negative emotion, find it, THEN close the deal on fixing the problem. Or keep on sending insightful content, asking for meetings. But you probably noticed -- even when sharing valuable knowledge it causes LESS engagement. Unless you were asked to share it first. Sellers earn the ask. Marketers push it, vomit it at prospects. Sellers help people feel an urge to REQUEST. (self qualify) This proves they're genuinely interested in listening. Anyone monkey can push. It takes skill to pull, attract and qualify leads. How do you react?
