In the latest Science appendix to Berlingeren, a deep dive is taken into Impilo's investment in Scantox. Impilo is the leading healthcare investor in the Nordics, and they acquired Scantox Group in 2021. Nicholas Hooge, Partner in Impilo, states "Scantox has a great potential, and today the company can deliver a more complete range of services within the preclinical market, both in the Nordics but also globally. Sweden: Pharma M&A - Impilo have sold a stake in Immedica Pharma AB to KKR for an undisclosed amount and is reinvesting as an equal shareholder. Founded in 2018, Immedica has a portfolio and pipeline of drugs primarily within haematology and oncology as well as genetic and metabolic diseases for rare conditions with high unmet medical need. 2023 pro forma sales were $94m with annual growth of more than 50%, and adjusted EBITDA of $35m. KKR is investing through its KKR Health Care Strategic Growth Fund II, a US$4bn fund focused on investing in high-growth health care companies. Morgan Stanley were financial and Latham & Watkins and Mannheimer Swartling legal advisors to Impilo and Bank of America were financial and Gibson Dunn , Setterwalls Advokatbyrå and Cooley LLP legal advisors to KKR. Grant Decisions Announced for Globus FORWARD ✨ The Fund has decided to grant funding to nine collaborative initiatives with a total amount of DKK 4,250,000. The Globus FORWARD programme supports long-term partnerships and capacity-building in Nordic-global cultural collaborations. As with previous rounds, the Fund has collaborated with an international expert panel in the assessment and final selection of proposals: “We can wholeheartedly support this selection, knowing that the pool of applications was tough and that there were several qualified proposals. The focus on capacity building and the development of institutional strengthening strategies is important, as several projects often get truncated due to lack of funding – well before they can realise their full potential. Giving a follow-up grant through Globus FORWARD allows these collaborations to plan for the long-term, an aspect that is rarely considered by funding organisations”, states the expert panel, which in 2024 has consisted of Jimena Lara, Chief Culture and Social Impact Officer, The Anglo Foundation in Mexico; pooja sood, Director of Khoj International Artists’ and Camilla Mordhorst, CEO of Danish Cultural Institute. Globus is the Nordic Culture Fund's thematic funding initiative in 2020-2025. Today Ascelia Pharma AB published its Half-Year Report 2024: Orviglance Completes Clinical Development with Successful Phase 3 Study CEO Magnus Corfitzen says: “In May 2024, we announced strong positive headline results from our pivotal Phase 3 study, SPARKLE, with Orviglance. The results showed that Orviglance significantly improved the visualization of focal liver lesions, successfully meeting the primary endpoint with statistical significance for all three readers (<0.001). The successful Phase 3 data reinforce our confidence in the regulatory and commercial path ahead for Orviglance and mark the completion of clinical development for Orviglance. We will now focus on bringing Orviglance through the regulatory submission and approval process with a submission of the New Drug Application (NDA) to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expected by mid 2025. We also continue to advance the dialogue with potential commercialization partners to launch Orviglance and make it available to patients who need high-quality liver imaging without gadolinium-related safety risk.   On 10 July, we announced the launch of a rights issue of approximately SEK 105 million, secured to SEK 70 million. This financing improves our financial position and strengthens our ability to obtain an attractive agreement with commercialization partners. It also ensures that we can complete all activities for the NDA submission mid 2025 with high quality.
