NHG and SingHealth have officially launched the new Ethics and Compliance Online System (ECOS)! 🎉 The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the mutual recognition of ethics review between Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) from NHG, SingHealth, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, National University of Singapore, and A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research 🤝 We were honoured to have Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, Permanent Secretary (National Research and Development), gracing the event and celebrating these important milestones with us! Jointly developed by NHG and SingHealth, ECOS is a one-stop solution supporting #research functions from beginning to end by public healthcare clusters and our local partners. By harmonising workflows and enhancing efficiency of processing ethics applications, ECOS allows us to promote collaborations among our researchers from different institutions seamlessly and at a faster pace. The MOA also represents a shared commitment to streamline IRB reviews and optimise resources across the public healthcare clusters and academic institutions, with the aim of enabling our researchers from different institutions to collaborate more easily with each other. Together, the ECOS and mutual IRB recognition agreement will help shape the future of research collaborations in our healthcare ecosystem, to bring about better outcomes for the patients and population we serve.
