“You don’t need permission to build something great.” For years, she moved seamlessly between industries — media, F&B, banking — but beneath the surface, Anna Vanessa Haotanto 陳安娜 knew she was searching for something more. Something she couldn’t quite define yet. Through every career pivot, she rewrote the rules. And when she found herself drawn to healthcare, she embraced the challenge of stepping into an unfamiliar territory and set up Zora Health. Anna’s journey into healthcare wasn’t planned, but it was deeply personal. “Throughout my career journey, I’ve had a lot of health issues. In 2022, I had five surgeries. I thought I was suffering from perimenopause — a condition when you have early menopause — and started learning more about the symptoms,” she admits. Her research opened her eyes to the gaps in women’s healthcare, issues that weren’t being talked about enough. Instead of waiting for change, she took action and applied her skills from past roles to make an impact in a new field. Moving into a new industry can be daunting, but Anna realised that expertise isn’t just about credentials — it’s about lived experience, continuous learning and the courage to start. To guide her own career transitions, she applied a “DFP” framework that anyone can use when considering their next step: 🔹 D - Domain: What domain expertise do you have? 🔹 F - Function: What role do you want to play? 🔹 P - Passion: What problem keeps you up at night? This structured approach helped her navigate multiple career changes — leveraging her transferable skills and learning what she needed to succeed in each new role. Transitioning into a new field isn’t just about skill-building; it’s also about who you know and how you engage with your network. When Anna shared about Zora Health online, she only expected a few responses. Instead, she received over 200 messages from individuals sharing their own experiences. That’s when she realised the power of open conversations — how sharing one’s story can spark dialogue, connection and support among others facing similar challenges. Anna’s journey is a testament to career resilience — it’s not just about enduring challenges, but adapting, learning and creating solutions that drive change. "Too often, we wait until we feel ‘ready’ or for someone to validate our ideas. But no one has all the answers. Instead, have the courage to start, learn, iterate and keep going,” she shares. In a world where the biggest breakthroughs come from those who dare to take the first step — what’s that one bold career move you’ve made? Drop it in the comments! #CareerHealth

When was the last time you took a step back to review your career path? 🤔 At the recent Mediacorp Pte Ltd Career Forward 2025 event, WSG Principal Career Coach Chris Lau challenged this mindset with some thought-provoking insights: ✅ Career planning isn't about plotting your next big move ✅ It's about building resilience in our ever-changing economy ✅ It starts with understanding your Values, Interests, Personality, and Skills (VIPS) ✅ Most importantly, it's about being prepared for opportunities, not predicting them Think about it: We wouldn't renovate our home without a plan. We wouldn't embark on a fitness journey without goals. So why approach our careers differently? What aspects of your life do you plan, and could that same approach transform your career? #CareerHealth #CareerPlanning Dilys Boey Boon Ping Lau Janice Foo Kenneth Meng Hwee Tang
