HONORABLE MENTION: Merle Dandridge

HONORABLE MENTION | Merle Dandridge was nothing short of stunning in Thursday’s tense Station 19 as Fire Chief Ross was forced to intervene in a near-tragedy. The Seattle PD was thisclose to opening fire on a terrified teenager armed with butter — yes, butter — before the chief arrived on the scene. But in an instant, her presence changed everything for the better. Strong and grounded, Dandridge exuded a gravitas that belied Ross’ anxiousness as she took control, went toe-to-toe with nemesis Dixon and pegged every cop present, from the nervous rookie to the trigger-happy vet. In the end, the chief succeeded in defusing the explosive situation, and her portrayer succeeded in making us appreciate all over again what a formidable character she’s created.
Merle Dandridge can do ANYTHING, she’s such a boss.
Squerciati had the most amazing performance I’ve seen in a long time…had me crying, squirming and frightened right along with her. Thought it was right up there with the subtle nuances of Pascal’s. Watching Hume I felt everything I could imagine he was feeling. Feeling the depth of his performance had tears rolling down my cheeks!
I agree 100%! Her performance was riveting.
I humbly suggest that you alter your editorial deadlines. You are consistently missing the fantastic performances on Shrinking. Jason Segal’s Episode 4 meltdown over his daughter’s revelation was epic. And watching Harrison Ford in Episode 6 on way too many edibles gave me a contact high.
They consider a full week so editorial deadlines don’t matter.
Amanda Plummer is a GREAT ACTRESS. Worthy of all the awards she’s won. Brava sista!!!
Such a wonderful new villain introduction. I also really enjoyed the scene with Jean-Luc and Beverly where they express so much without even saying a word. It truly was a fabulous episode with fabulous performances. (also apologies if this comment doubles up, I had made one but it’s not showing up so I’m not sure what happened).
Just a suggestion for Tracie Thoms and Danielle savre in ep8 of s06 for performer of this week. When you’ll se it you’ll know it.
Ramon Rodriguez has been excellent as Will Trent, but he was especially outstanding in the most recent episode, as the stakes were higher than usual, and Will showed more vulnerability than he has. RR did it so subtly and beautifully. Erika Christensen has been first-rate in this show, too.
Bradley Whitford was heartbreaking on this weekk’s SVU.
Totally agree about Ramon Rodriguez and Erika Christensen. Pedro Pascal was excellent also.
Ramon Rodriguez is fantastic! So is the show. The entire cast is great.
Amen! Love his portrayal and this show is one I watch LIVE every week.
Bradley Whitford on SVU was incredible.
I so expected that he would get performer of the week. No mention whatsoever – so wrong!
That scene with the story being read at the end had me in tears.
Especially when they dedicated the episode to Richard Belzer. I seriously cried.
I loved when he told Mariska/Benson that she had the face of Jayne Mansfield, her mother in real life who died in a very tragic car accident when Mariska was just a little girl. Very touching moment, as well was the dedication to Richard Belzer.
Totally agree…Avery well done episode. Bradley was excellent… loved seeing the character as a young boy, a young man and the groom marrying his first love.
Pedro Pascal has blown me away every single week. He’s been fantastic on the show.
I just knew Marina would be the performer of the week! I even said as much to my sister after watching the show. She was so believable as someone suffering from PTSD.
And Mehcad Brooks, really powerful on this week’s L&O. Incidentally, the revival has really hit its stride this season in general.
I second this! I’ve been impressed with his work on L&O this season and they’ve had some of these issues bubble up here and there throughout the season. But, the way he tried to both swallow the emotions of what was happening to him while also letting them out was great. Brooks deserves recognition for this.
It’s really improved since last seasons revival, except I can’t stand Nolan Price. Such a wimp.
Merle Dandridge was incredible. The scene was a classic Shondaland moment, reminiscent of Olivia Pope in the early days of Scandal. It was so awesome to see this type of writing and character development still exists after all these years.
Nick Nolte on Poker Face was so good this week. He had so many quiet levels to his performance. This was the best episode of Poker Face (imo) and his performance was a big part of that
actually saw all four of these performances, and they were all phenomenal!
Nothing for Monet Mazur? Her portrayal as a grieving Laura Baker should have earned at least an HM.
Amanda Plummer was fantastic, but I also really loved the scene with Admiral Picard (Patrick Stewart ) and Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) where Jean-Luc learns (spoiler) without either of them saying a word. Between that scene and a great new villain, it was one of the best Trek episodes to date.
I’d add Gates McFadden for Star Trek Picard.
Merle Dandridge was awesome in Thursday’s Station 19. So glad the show is FINALLY back!
Bella will be this week for Episode 7 of TLOU. Book it Dan-O.
I would watch a spin off with Merle Dandridge! She is one of the best characters on the show!
The General Hospital cast has been doing an amazing job this month. Especially Brooke Kerr (Portia) and Tabyana Ali (Trina).
Are you serious?!? Hahaha!! Portia is one of the worst actresses on GH!! Her scenes are laughable, overwrought and way too phony! She is a terrible actress, and sadly this current Trina seems to be taking after her. She’s shrill and she over acts way too much. I think the former Trina would have handled this storyline so much better.
Mechad Brooks is this week’s Law & Order was superb. It’s a sin he didn’t get a nod.
Cheyenne Jackson= On this week’s Call Me Kat , dealing with the appearance of his dad after 30 years.
When Burgess gets her own episodes you always know they’re going to be special, she doesn’t get that many but when she does they’re very powerful.
Amanda Plummer?
Are you trolling us?
Oh my days, she was absolute cringe.
Her scenes were straight out of Batman ’66!
What about Danielle Savre? She and Merle were both amazing in Station 19 this week!
wow first week all 4 shows I watch are in the honorable mention. Man I have good taste! Seriously though prenominal actors/actresses
