We are proud to partner with Hays and Homewards UK on Project Flourish, an initiative created in collaboration with EveryYouth to support young people at risk of homelessness. Announced at an event led by Hays in Aberdeen, and attended by Prince William, this programme helps break down employment barriers by providing meaningful career pathways, structured training, and long-term support. As part of our ESG strategy, we are committed to making 10% of all new hires from underrepresented groups by the end of 2025, ensuring that employment is accessible to those who need it most. Through Project Flourish, we are demonstrating that it is possible to end homelessness by creating real opportunities for long-term stability. Passengers expect seamless multi-modal journeys, yet behind every smooth transition lies a network of infrastructure assets that must be meticulously managed. When maintenance is reactive or uncoordinated, disruptions cascade across transport networks - delays mount, congestion increases, and passenger confidence erodes. We believe proactive, data-driven asset management is key to improving reliability. By integrating predictive maintenance, real-time analytics, and customer insights, transport operators can reduce disruptions, optimise infrastructure performance, and enhance the travel experience. Our 'Move You In Pack' initiative, in partnership with e50K is a great example of social value in action—turning our ESG commitments into real impact. What started as a simple welcome box for Service families moving into their new homes has evolved into a pioneering project, supplying essential, sustainable items from veteran and military spouse-led businesses. The profit from these packs is reinvested into Bramblewoods, a 3.5-hectare woodland in Catterick Garrison, enhancing local biodiversity, strengthening community wellbeing, and creating a lasting legacy. What an eye-opening and inspiring day at the ADEPT #LiveLabs2Expo event here in #Liverpool. We heard from all the Live Labs 2 teams and had wide-ranging updates on research, progress and next steps for the third and final year for each of the projects. The SME ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitches were dynamic and engaging and the speakers and panel discussions presented some tough challenges to consider but also amazing ambitions and potential for the future decarbonisation of highways - as long as we keep this vital conversation open and moving forwards. Thank you to each and every person who came along today to discuss, debate, share ideas and be part of this essential dialogue. We hope you’ve taken away new information and inspiration to share with your teams. We understand the Live Labs 2 initiative to be one of the largest of its kind in the world and the work we saw today is certainly worthy of being world leading. We are thrilled to launch our second cohort of the Social Enterprise Accelerator, our joint initiative with Hays. The Amey Hays Social Enterprise Accelerator helps social enterprises identify opportunities to grow their operations, and forms an integral part of our larger commitment to reducing economic, social, and environmental inequalities through sustainable procurement practices. This year, Circular11 and Amplify Goods | Certified SE and Diverse Owned will each receive a £25,000 grant and up-to 80 hours of tailored support. Where viable opportunities are identified, they will also have the opportunity to join our supply chains and tender for contracts. So far, our partners have gained valuable insights from cohort one partner Standing Tall during a virtual kick-off session, and we have conducted site visits to better understand their operations. Looking ahead, we will be providing each partner bespoke mentoring and subject matter expertise, along with introductions to clients and supply chain networks, before a celebration event this September. We are using data-driven insights to transform how we manage over 70,000 trees across Service Family Accommodation (SFA) Estates. Our arboriculture specialists conduct efficient on-site surveys, ensuring the safety of families and estate users while enhancing biodiversity. With Arbortrack, we assess tree health, support species diversification, and identify optimal locations for bat boxes and green corridors. This approach aligns with our ESG commitments, promoting sustainable habitats and long-term environmental benefits.
