Today a group of Heriot-Watt University final year Civil Engineering students presented the results of their project to us. They had investigated congestion issues on the A720 Edinburgh city bypass and gone on to identify possible solutions. Tom Deans, BEAR SE Network Manager and Jamie Finlayson CEng FIHE, BEAR SE Contract Manager acted as their client through the project. The options they presented were well researched and impressive. Great to see the new talent coming into the industry first hand. #NewTalent

Last week, we attended the Graduate Apprenticeship Employer Showcase at Edinburgh Napier University, meeting students interested in careers in road management and maintenance. Events like these are a great way to highlight the opportunities available at BEAR Scotland and the value of hands-on learning in the industry. Our Contract Delivery Manager, Jamie Finlayson CEng FIHE, represented BEAR Scotland at the event along with Graduate Engineer Nathan Brady, sharing insights into our Graduate Apprenticeship opportunities. Great to welcome senior representatives from one of our shareholding companies, Breedon Group plc. After an overview of our business and our Trunk Road Contracts in the North West and South East of Scotland, our visitors enjoyed a tour of the Queensferry Crossing.
