Identifying people who could benefit from continuity of care has been flagged as a key component of the GP Contract 2025/2026 (https://lnkd.in/eaQbt46z). Specifically, PCNs can claim £29.2m through CAIP funding if they risk stratify patients in accordance with need - including to identify those that would benefit most from continuity of care. Did you know that Continuity of Care is already factored into Brave AI (https://lnkd.in/eJizeb9s)? We're exploring this concept in greater detail through our Brave AI Masterclass series. If you're interested in finding out more, you can register through our Brave AI Community portal (https://lnkd.in/eT8WbVHZ)!

We're thrilled to share that Bering has been named a finalist in the 2025 Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards for our contributions to the INTErPRET-NAFLD project! This incredible collaboration was made possible by the outstanding leadership of Professor Jonathan Fallowfield, Dr. Tim Kendall, and Marian McNeil. Working alongside clinical and research teams, we developed an innovative AI model designed to predict all-cause mortality risk in patients with liver disease. Our model was validated both in Edinburgh and within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde SafeHaven environment. The results of this groundbreaking research have been published here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eDA744EK We’ll be celebrating with our collaborators Biodev, HistoIndex, Precision Medicine Scotland Innovation Centre, The University of Edinburgh, and fellow finalists at the Edinburgh Futures Institute on March 19th—hope to see you there!

Heart Failure is common, but difficult to predict in advance. Together With colleagues from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and AstraZeneca, my team at Bering show that a simple Transformer Neural Network, trained on routinely-collected hospital data, can predict first hospitalisation with Heart Failure three years in advance. We're delighted to welcome James Blackwood CITP MBCS MCMI as our Fractional CTO. It's an exciting time to be doing #AI in #healthcare and James Blackwood CITP MBCS MCMI's skills and experience will an invaluable asset to the team and our mission. Amazing to have you on board, JD!
I’m happy to share that I’m adding a new position to my portfolio, as Fractional CTO at Bering! I've been working with Ignat Drozdov and the team at Bering for nearly 5 years. They were one of the superstars in the iCAIRD programme, which saw them take their #BraveCX product from concept through regulatory approval and to the market. I'm exceptionally lucky to work with the team. Apart from being exceptionally smart and a great team, I'm particularly pleased to be helping them scale their population health platform #BraveAI, which is being rolled as part of NHS England Digital Neighbourhoods programme (https://lnkd.in/eUcAYrme). The product provides insights and predictions based on analysing patient data from GPs. Trials in Somerset have already reduced emergency department admissions from the care home setting by up to 60%, reduced falls by 38% and ambulance call outs by 8.7% - so genuinely improves health and wellbeing. All as part of a system of changes where people and AI work together to solve the nation's health needs (https://lnkd.in/efqgCs7u). Having come from an environment where AI is being used to diagnose and treat patients in secondary care, it's fantastic to be able to tackle another critical problem with our healthcare system: many of those patients needn't have entered the secondary care system and their care could have been managed in the home or community setting. Anything we can do to reduce hospital admissions has a compound benefit for everyone. #AI #artificialintelligence #aiforgood #nhs #healthcare #populationhealth
