From 1970 - 2025: Our story so far... Did you know that Caunton opened for business in February 1970 and won its first order in March of that year? The company originated from what used to be a blacksmiths on the edge of the Caunton village in Newark. In 1973, the company moved from Caunton to Kirkby in Ashfield and then to Moorgreen in 1990, where we still are today. Caunton Engineering have been awarded the contract, by main contractor, Winvic Construction Ltd, to supply over 2,000te of steelwork to Panattoni Park Central A1(M). This development is said to be the largest single speculative unit currently under construction in 2025 and is targeting BREEAM 'Outstanding' and an EPC rating of 'A+' in the offices. Curtis, one of our highly skilled plater / welders, has mastered the intricate techniques required for the fabrication of trusses. With this extensive knowledge and experience he is now mentoring two of our employees, one a current apprentice and the other a recently qualified apprentice, guiding them through each step of the process, ensuring they gain the practical skills needed to excel in the fabrication of trusses. #engineering

With the recent purchase of an electric-powered, multi-directional CombiLift, we are delighted to announce that we have now fully transitioned to electric-powered transportation for the moving of steelwork across our main works, meaning that we are moving even closer to our target of becoming Net Zero by 2050. The steelwork is required for the construction of a new leisure centre, as well as fixing the metal decking and installation of the precast lift shaft.
