Mark represented the Aberdeen Association of Construction Professionals as Vice-Chair, proudly sporting his AACP chairman's medal (aka his official 'jingly jangly'). On Friday night, we swapped our mouses for rhinestones and stepped into the glittering world of Gatsby at the VSA charity ball! Turns out our team can Charleston just as well as they can design buildings (okay, maybe not quite as well… but what we lacked in technique, we made up for in architectural flair!). Between the phenomenal food, toe-tapping tunes, and enough feathers to start our own peacock farm, it was a night to remember. VSA does amazing work in our community, and we’re proud to have played a small part in their story. We’re thrilled to share that £106,785 was raised on the night! And just like that a year goes by! Our adaptive reuse project on Justice Mill Lane has reached the end of its years defect period and it still looks as good as it did at hand over. Cumming and Co designed the building as a hotel originally back in 2007 and we were asked by the new owners to transform it into a 101 studio student accommodation facility with social spaces. We went back to school! Some of us went along to the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture End of Year show last week. The standard of student’s work was high!
