GoodWork

Non-profit Organizations

Creating fairer employment opportunities for young people from marginalised communities.

About us

GoodWork is a non-profit, working with employers to offer equitable opportunities and make hiring for potential a reality. We support young people facing systemic barriers to access the training and opportunities they need to transition successfully to work. We work with employers across the early careers lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to supporting progression and retention. We also deliver our flagship Early Careers Programme, matching young people in need of opportunity with businesses looking to access brilliant, diverse entry-level talent. We provide comprehensive training and support to both interns and placement providers in order to maximise the placement’s chance of success. The outcome is lasting change for both the young people and organisations we work with.

  • We're excited to welcome Micky Banert-Lucas to the team 🎉 Micky has come on board as our new Programme Officer - supporting Zoë Morgan with the planning and delivery of our youth employability programmes. Micky has spent her career so far empowering young people as a teacher, and is excited now to support their transition into early careers. She's got stuck in straight away with great ideas and brought an infectious energy into the new GoodWork office. We're so happy to have you Micky! Our growing team means we have capacity to run more programmes, meaning we can help more young people break down barriers and achieve their professional goals: 2025, you're not ready for us 😮💨

  • We had a very exciting to start to the week, as we visited BBC Broadcasting House to cheer on Jamie Laing as he set off on his Ultra Marathon Man Challenge to raise funds for Comic Relief 🎉 It was an amazing experience to be on the starting line, cheering Jamie on as he set off live on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show! As a funded partner of Comic Relief, donations make a huge difference to small organisations like GoodWork, allowing us to empower more young people from low income backgrounds to access great employment opportunities and set them up for success. It was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to visit the BBC and we'll be cheering Jamie on throughout his challenge!

  • It was a joy to interview Cohort 3 Graduate, Farhan C. - highlighting our wonderful partnership with Forward Institute for our 2024 Impact Report 🌟 Farhan shares his journey throughout the programme, to excelling in his first full time role at Forward Institute: 'It's completely changed what's possible for me. I'm so grateful to be here.' We are so proud of Farhan's growth, and it's been a pleasure to work with Forward Institute on their entry level hiring. Fran Carver from Forward Institute shares: “We were delighted to partner with GoodWork because, as a responsible leadership organisation, we believe in creating fair and accessible opportunities for all which echoes GoodWorks purpose. Leadership should be shaped by diverse perspectives, and as should any organisation. Through GoodWork we have been able to meet with and hire an exceptional new team member, we may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise." GoodWork's Good News! 🗞️ This week we're thrilled to have moved into our new office and Community Hub. This is a super exciting milestone for GoodWork and means we now have our own space to host our programmes and events 🏡 A huge shout out to Matt Scaysbrook and 3Space for such a warm welcome; to Collecteco for an incredibly useful furniture donation; and to our volunteers Shrayansh (Shray) Sett, Vibhor Mahajan and Michael J. Diamond for rolling up their sleeves and helping us carry it all up to the second floor! We're incredibly grateful for all the support we've received so far. We need a few final bits and pieces to complete the renovation; if you'd like to make a donation towards this, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/d3UMKJcv. We'll keep you updated on our space transformation, and can't wait to host our community to celebrate as soon as it's ready 🎉

A big thank you to Jack Latchford from Publicis Groupe for hosting a value packed webinar on Starting a Career in Media for our programme participants yesterday 🚀 The session highlighted: → Who Publicis Groupe are in the world of media, communication and advertising, and what it means to be part of their team. → What the different career paths across Media and Creative look like for entry level jobs. → Open roles and other upcoming opportunities. It was great to work with Publicis Groupe to give our young people real world insight into the media industry, and help make these professional pathways feel more accessible. If you or your organisation would like to collaborate with GoodWork to share valuable insights into early careers pathways for your industry, please get in touch via [email protected] 💫
