About us
Making leadership, learning and life better. In today’s VUCA world, leadership can feel like an endurance event: running to keep up with the ever-quickening pace of change; competing for talented people who are in short supply and high demand; delivering an increasing list of tasks with decreasing resources and time. Against this backdrop, leaders and their teams can burn out, causing them to stumble or fall short of the line. Stress, anxiety and mental health issues are an everyday reality. But it’s not all doom and gloom. It doesn’t have to be this way. Leaders can create environments where people want to learn, where they get things done and done well, where they thrive and where they love to work. But how? That’s where we come in: we use The Science of Happiness at Work™ to inspire leaders to achieve more. Our targeted interventions increase innovation, productivity, performance and decrease sick-leave and staff turnover, positively impacting your bottom line. And we do this by: - Delivering bespoke leadership programs which enable leaders to learn how to achieve their potential - Creating meaningful leadership skills development to allow leaders to achieve more in their day to day work - Improving team Happiness profiles with systemic team coaching to create environments where people thrive - Coaching executives 1-2-1 to love their work and give their best We are agile collaborators, great listeners and fearless challengers. So no matter how complex your need, we take the time to get under the skin of your organisation. We work with diverse clients across many sectors, from FTSE 100 listed organizations to boutique start-ups. And we develop talented senior leaders in partnership with the world’s best business schools. Please get in touch to find out more on +44(0)1865511522 or info@iopenerinstitute.com

We love this article by Subramani Balakrishnan on the dangers of coaching, laying out 7 terrible things you may acquire and awful pitfalls you may let go of. Our Director of Coaching Programs & Science of Happiness at Work, Oriana Tickell MAPP PCC humbly suggests a number eight: 8. The confidence that you are perfect as you are and don’t need to change, or holding the internal belief that “to know me is to love me” What if you have a position that means you are asked to change teams, jobs and countries every couple of years? Obviously the first 6 months to a year in a new location are always an uphill struggle for everyone, it’s normal to have a learning curve that can include misunderstandings, hurt feelings and resistence both on your part and that of your new team. The confirmation of this belief is that every time you leave a post you get great feedback, everyone misses you and wishes you could stay on longer. Maybe there could be a smoother way to arrive to your next new posting, so that you can hit the ground running? This will involve a bit of planning and learning from experience. Nah, can’t be bothered, I know it will all be alright in the end… If you really insist on ignoring all this advice and still want to expose yourself to the vagaries of being coached, you can find out how we go about it here: https://lnkd.in/ebfitFTS #executivecoaching #coaching
Leadership Coach | Empowering C-suite aspirants | PCC-ICF| EMCC-EIA-SP |ITCA | ICF Mentor Coach | NLP practitioner | Coaching leaders and teams for achieving success & desired results in personal and professional life.
Coaching is a dangerous thing. Everyone needs to avoid coaching. Once you start getting coached, you may never be the same again. Leaders who go for coaching often find themselves losing things they never thought they would. Think of all the new learning and awareness, and add to it all the letting-go’s, and finally the actions needed for change- Phew, too much. If you're still stubborn and are considering coaching, read on and pull up your "all is well" mask.

We have been working with Business Schools for 20 years! And we would really appreciate your advice... To mark this milestone we are running some expert taster sessions to showcase a mix of tried-and-tested workshops and some of our recent innovations. These will be online, with a content showcase and space for Q&As. We are toying with either doing several topics on one day, like a mini-conference on one day, or spreading the learning out over several weeks by tackling one subject per week in a bite-size 20-minute session. Our question to you is what format would work best for you? So if you work for a Business School, or you're a consultant, or even if you work in the corporate world and are interested in seeing a session up close, we'd love to hear from you!

‘Story telling is how we see and shape the world’ (BAFTAS.. tonight) Today delivering story telling at London Business School. .. one of my favourite of all workshops. How apt and appropriate on a day when we celebrate stories in the Cinema . .. .. always a privilege to hear honest heartfelt authentic stories that shape a business value. On another note. 🏆congratulations to my friend Juliette Howell (Producer) for ‘Conclave’ FOUR BAFTAS.. 🏆super proud x BEST FILM! 🏆 A curious insight to Vatican rivalry, greed, comraderie and compassion. Human frailty and flaws in friendship and leadership. A delight to work with Dan March and inspiring team of iOpener inspiring consultants.. #leadtheadventure #storytelling
