One Horton Heath in Southampton underwent some final touches throughout February. Over a period of five days, 14,000 square meters of HRA 35/14 surface course was laid. It was a great team effort. #luddonsurfacing #nationwide #tarmac

Our team are hard at work delivering essential reconstruction works on behalf of The City of Edinburgh Council at Lawnmarket, extending to Castlehill, Johnston Terrace and Upper Bow. Situated within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our work involves a full reconstruction of the existing sett carriageway, carefully lifting, cleaning, and re-laying the historic setts, with additional brass setts incorporated to mark the footprint of a former historic building. This complex project is progressing in four phases: ✅ 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟭: Upper Bow – Setts, Kerbing & Footway Works ✅ 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮:  Roundabout & Associated Footway Works ✅ 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟯: Lawnmarket East ✅ 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟰: Lawnmarket West With the site sitting on a major tourist route leading to Edinburgh Castle, our team is delivering these works with the utmost care to maintain the area’s historic character while improving its long-term durability. Last week at the CECA Scotland AGM, we were delighted to welcome our new Board members: Allan Randall from Luddon Construction Limited and Robert Ogg from Akela Group. With their distinct perspectives and insights, we anticipate an exciting year ahead for everyone at CECA. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Steven McLachlan from RSE and Kenneth Henderson from BAM UK & Ireland, who have stepped down from the CECA Scotland board. Their steadfast commitment and dedication to the industry have been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate their contributions. After the AGM, Glenn Hide from GMH Planning - NEC Training led an informative workshop for our members focused on NEC Contracts. This session attracted considerable attendance, and we thank Glenn for generously sharing his expertise once again.

This extension creates a modern, purpose-built facility for the female workforce. The project included: ✅ New female toilets and locker room ✅ New foundations, slab, and drainage, with a traditionally built brick and block structure ✅ Fire main diversion to accommodate the extension ✅ A new mechanical and ventilation system for improved air quality ✅ A new electrical supply for lighting and power This investment ensures a more comfortable, functional, and inclusive environment for the team at Cambus Cooperage. #NewBuild #Extension #WelfareFacilities #PurposeBuilt
