Care Experienced History Month takes place in April every year💜 It is a month dedicated to exploring the past of the care-experienced community, and amplifying stories of those who have been in care. As part of our partnership with Become, we want to help change the system. ❓Did you know more than 18,000 children in the UK are currently separated from their communities? This means: - Disrupted schooling and mental health support - Broken connections with siblings and friends - They’re at a higher risk of going missing.   While some children need distance for safety, most are moved simply because suitable local homes aren’t available. And there’s no tracking of why they are placed so far away. Every child needs stability to develop and thrive. Yet in England, more than 1 in 5 children in care are placed over 20 miles from home – some as far as 500 miles. You can help make a difference by signing Become’s Gone Too Far petition to keep children in care close to the people and places that matter the most to them. By signing the petition, we will help demand from the Government: - Clear data collection and reporting on why children are being moved miles from home - National and local strategies to make sure there are the right homes in the right places, to keep children in care close to the people and places that matter to them.   ✍️ Will you join us and sign the petition today? Driving circular innovation in construction♻️ Last week, together with British Land, we welcomed Environment Secretary Rt Hon Steve Reed OBE MP to Dock Shed - one of London’s most sustainable workspaces - to announce the UK government’s new Circular Economy Strategy. We hosted a discussion with industry leaders on how circularity can cut waste, drive economic growth, and create jobs. Our Group Chief Executive, Jason Millett, shared insights on how the construction industry can lead the way - through material passports, investment in material banks, and smarter incentives. Collaboration is key to transforming the built environment.  Read more on Mace's work on circularity in our most recent report here:🔗 https://lnkd.in/dhXcSGi8 #MaceConstruct #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

Delivering the UK’s first fully electric prison 💡🔌 Mace has worked with the Ministry of Justice UK since 2019 as Delivery Partner for its New Prisons Programme. Together, we have delivered HMP Five Wells in 2022, HMP Fosse Way in 2023, and now HMP Millsike this year. HMP Millsike provides close to 1,500 additional prisons places to HMP Prisons and Probation services, supporting the UK Government’s 10 year strategy for increasing prison capacity. It is also first fully electric prison in the country, achieved through the implementation of Air Source Heat Pumps and PV panels to supplement power drawn from the grid. The full project story is already on our website, read more here: 🔗https://lnkd.in/dACjx4ma #MaceConsult #MaceUK #NewPrisonsProgramme

How do you save both carbon and programme? 🔋 That was the challenge we faced when delivering the foundations for The Daubeny Project at The Oxford Science Park (TOSP). By collaborating with SubTerra, we implemented an innovative, UK-first substructure design. This approach shortened the construction programme by five weeks, reduced 1,000 tonnes of reinforcement and 5,200m³ of concrete, and resulted in savings of £4M and 3,000,000kg of embodied carbon (CO₂e). Transforming Healthcare in Peru! We are proud to announce the inauguration of the Matucana Hospital! 🌟 This project exemplifies our strong commitment to the Peruvian state in providing high-quality healthcare services to over 84,000 citizens in Lima and Junín. At Mace, we work alongside ANIN (Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura) applying proven delivery methods adapted for successful implementation in the Peruvian market, ensuring timely and efficient results. Thanks to standardized contracts and the Fast Track methodology, we completed this project in less than four years— half the average time in Peru— without compromising on quality or sustainability, even amidst the challenges of the pandemic. Efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. We transfer knowledge to ensure that best practices in hospital infrastructure continue in the country. We deliver operational facilities, ensuring a smooth transition to the user area and strengthening local capabilities to maintain improvements over time. Additionally, we incorporated 54 seismic isolators and an advanced stormwater drainage system to guarantee continued healthcare services even in the most adverse conditions. With an investment of S/311 million (+£65 million), the Matucana Hospital was constructed with the specialized advice of UKDT, composed of Mace, Arup, and Gleeds in the framework of the Perú-UK G2G. The hospital was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, the General Manager of ANIN, as well as regional and local authorities. We are combining efforts to ensure more people have access to the highest quality healthcare services! #MaceAmericas #Peru #MaceConsult #UKDT #G2G #Sustainability #Resilience
