    This International Women’s Day, we are pleased to announce that AkzoNobel UK & Ireland has received the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, the mark of excellence for menopause at work. The Menopause Friendly Accreditation are on a mission to make every workplace menopause friendly, ensuring that women experiencing menopause can continue to thrive professionally. We are incredibly proud to be recognised as a great place to work for those experiencing menopause by the leading provider of menopause workplace services. What started out as an employee-led initiative in 2021, our Menopause awareness and activity programme was quickly championed by senior leadership and Thrive members (AkzoNobel’s wellbeing initiative). Since its inception, several activities have been introduced to ensure our employees feel supported at work were highly regarded by Menopause Friendly UK’s Independent Panel of Experts. Key initiatives include: · Our Menopause Guidance Policy which includes accommodations and adjustments available for menopausal employees and is consistently reviewed to reflect colleagues’ changing needs. · Our ongoing Menopause awareness training sessions for colleagues and managers in collaboration with Henpicked (one of the UK’s largest communities for women over 40). · Our new lightweight uniforms for Dulux Decorator Centre stores employees. These were introduced in response to feedback from colleagues experiencing menopause and their request for more comfortable work attire. · We have facilitated a cultural shift in the business where employees feel confident discussing menopause, breaking down the associated stigma. International Women’s Day imagines a more gender equal world. At AkzoNobel, we are committed to help forge this shared vision by providing support for and raising awareness of employees experiencing menopause.
