  • Job hunting can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re just starting out. As recent graduates and under two years in our entry- level role, we’ve been there--navigating applications, facing rejections, and dealing with self-doubt. Now, as members of the Pollen team, we want to share what we’ve learned to help other young job seekers move forward with confidence, not just in Pollen’s hiring process, but in any job search. What you'll learn: Building Confidence in Your Job Search – Caden will share why confidence matters, how to strengthen it and why "faking it" can sometimes help you make it. Plus, a look at rejection therapy and stepping outside your comfort zone. Imposter Syndrome in Job Applications and Interviews – Tameika will break down how imposter syndrome can hold you back from applying for roles you’re more than qualified for or make you doubt yourself in interviews. Learn how to recognise these thoughts, reframe them, and present yourself with confidence, even when you don’t feel 100% ready. Behind the Scenes of Hiring – Holly will offer insights from being on the other side of the hiring process, with tips to help you stand out in applications and interviews at Pollen and beyond. What You’ll Get Out of This Session: -A clearer understanding of what employers are actually looking for -Practical strategies to feel more confident and handle rejection better -A behind the scenes look at hiring from those who’ve been on both sides -Tangible steps to overcome imposter syndrome when applying and interviewing -A chance to ask questions and get real advice from people who’ve been in your shoes We know what it’s like to be in your position, and we want to help you approach your job search with clarity and confidence!

  • If you've been to one of our events, you know we love a good debate! 👀 At Pollen, we challenge the assumptions made about Gen Z by giving them the opportunity to respond for themselves. Every generation has faced its own set of assumptions, but if we take the time to understand why these perceptions exist, we can work together to create something truly great. That’s why we bring people on stage to have open discussions—because when we listen and learn from each other, we can build better connections and solutions. What assumption about Gen Z would you like to discuss in a debate? If you're interested in our thoughts on the assumptions about Gen Z, check out our Guide to Gen Z for Employers for some great content and input from our community. • Inspired. More Hopeful. Positive. This is the feedback we received after our most recent masterclass, led by the incredible Tamara McMillen Tamara guided us through an insightful session on selling yourself throughout the job search journey—from reading job descriptions to nailing interviews. In today’s competitive job market, where a single posting can receive hundreds (if not thousands) of applications, knowing how to sell yourself during the process is what will help you stand out. Tamara shared invaluable strategies on identifying what a company truly needs and tailoring applications accordingly, allowing attendees to shift their focus from simply listing qualifications and experiences to positioning yourself as the company's solution. The impact? ✨ Confidence in approaching interviews as conversations (rather than high pressure tests) rose from 60% to 91% ✨ The number of attendees who felt comfortable highlighting their strengths (rather than focusing on gaps) jumped from 40% to 73% A huge thank you to Tamara for leading such a transformational session!

Inclusive Gen Z Hiring | Business Development & Brand Manager at Pollen 💛 | Empowering a community of young people | Anthropy Emerging Leader

Emerging leader coming through!🤩 Excited to share that I have been nominated as an Emerging leader at Anthropy UK 2025. My time at Pollen Careers, working in a startup and speaking to young people every day who I am sure will do incredible things, is just one of the reasons I can’t wait to join over 2,000 leaders from a wide range of sectors in Cornwall. Together, we will discuss the vision for a brighter Britain in 30 years’ time and how we might get there. As Gen Z is set to make up around 30-35% of the workforce by 2050, I can’t wait to see what ideas and perspectives other emerging leaders and I bring to the conversation. If you're heading to Anthropy this year, I hope to see you there! #Anthropy #Anthropy25 #careers

  • Reflecting on our incredible event in Bournemouth 🤩 When planning this event, we knew we wanted to create a space where Gen Z could speak on behalf of their own generation, not have someone else do it for them—and that’s exactly what happened. The morning included: ⭐️ A lively debate on sweeping statements made about Gen Z ⭐️ An insightful panel featuring our Gen Z changemakers ⭐️ Meaningful networking opportunities It was inspiring to see how engaged everyone was, eager to learn and listen. In a world where the media often portrays young people in such a negative light, it’s refreshing to see the reality: they are truly inspiring. And it’s not just us who feel this way! A huge thank you to everyone who attended, who stayed curious, and who engaged. This is just the beginning of breaking down the disconnect between generations and giving Gen Z the stage they truly deserve. A special thanks to Spear Bournemouth and Ella Jenkinson for co-hosting and paving the way to uplift and support young people, our incredible Gen Z changemakers that included Edison Earl, Tina Madjanovic,Tameika M., and Elise —and to Patch for hosting us at such a lovely venue. Here’s to more events that empower and inspire! We have more events coming soon so make sure to keep an eye out 👀 #events #careers #genz
