Aston Martin’s #Valkyrie LMH has been unveiled – and will be the only car on the grid to be powered by a #V12 engine The car is the closest yet to embodying the spirit of the #LeMans Hypercar rules as originally envisaged: a road-based hypercar taken racing. #AstonMartin will be the only outfit running in #Hypercar with a car able to directly trace its lineage to a homologated road version. Developed by Aston Martin Performance Technologies, THOR (The Heart of Racing) and Multimatic, the Valkyrie has taken the basics of the road car and adapted them to the #LMH rule set. We're looking forward to seeing how the groundbreaking #PitBoost charging feature from Formula E and the #FIA will spice up race day In a nutshell: Pit Boost delivers a 10% energy boost (3.85kWh) to the cars through a 30-second, 600kW rapid recharge in the pitlane. Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds described it as "a glimpse into the future of EV technology and the power of sustainable motorsport". Alberto Longo, co-founder and chief championship officer at Formula E, added, “[With Pit Boost] the potential for dramatic overtakes, unexpected twists and human ingenuity will elevate the excitement for our fans … and it marks a step change for consumer vehicles and the potential of EV performance.” Marek Nawarecki, senior circuit sport director at FIA – Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, commented, “This pioneering new feature will add another strategic element to the sport, underscoring the FIA’s steadfast commitment to developing evermore advanced race-to-road technologies.” Want to know more?
