Earlier today, experts from the rail sector came together at Rail Unites for Inclusion Gender Equity conference, exploring how we can bring about positive, meaningful change for women. All women should feel safe travelling by train, without fear of intimidation or sexual harassment. We need to attract women to #rail and showcase the opportunities available to the younger generation looking to start their careers. We need to respect women and support them in bringing their authentic selves to work, so they feel confident growing and progressing within the rail industry. There is much to be done, and we are committed to taking action now. #WomensHistoryMonth #AccelerateAction

Last week, the team headed to Paris for Sustainability Action Week, hosted by the UIC - International union of railways #UICrail. It was a great few days with discussions on how to make #rail more sustainable, covering everything from CO2 emissions to climate adaptation and sustainability reporting. There were plenty of real-world examples to learn from, like how Spain’s railways are preparing for extreme weather and how Chile is weaving sustainability into its business strategy. The event was a real reminder of just how important rail is in building a greener future. Decarbonisation isn’t just a challenge—it’s a huge opportunity for rail to lead the way towards a more #sustainable world.

Sunday saw thousands travelling to Wembley to watch the Carabao Cup. With disruption affecting routes from Liverpool and Newcastle, to assist fans we created visual disruption map videos featuring British Sign Language and captions, which were viewed by thousands of customers. We hope everyone enjoyed the match and found the videos useful. #AccessibleRail #InclusiveRail #SLW2025

Rail Delivery Group reposted this
I have been working at Rail Delivery Group for five years, and even in that time I have noticed a real shift in the focus and development of our employee networks. In particular, I am an ally to the Empower network at RDG, a network for women and non-binary people. On the eve of International Women's day, I wanted to write a post about it! For me, it's a straight forward issue - women and non-binary people have historically been under-represented in the rail industry and I want to get behind any action that corrects the balance on this front. I have worked with some incredible women and non-binary colleagues, and I value this diversity in my workplace. We need to preserve and strengthen our actions to give a broader range of people opportunities to enter our industry, because this will go on to benefit society, the industry and our customers. So of course, as there is a focus this year on accelerating action for Women's equality (see https://lnkd.in/enpsfaXY), you can bet I will do what I can to help and promote! #AccelerateAction #InternationalWomensDay
