Why next week is such an important week and matters so much to me. 1️⃣ In Parliament on Monday for a HUGE debate on the Employment Bill kicked off by Damian Hinds MP (former Employment Minister), and featuring: 👉 the Better Hiring Institute (BHI) 👉 the CIPD 👉 the TUC 👉 the Chartered Management Institute 👉 academics 👉 and the Recruitment & Employment Confederation 3.30 to 5pm - if you can come along please do, support the need for change, link in comments The session is designed to develop a steering paper on what needs to happen next with the Employment Rights Bill so that it is: 👍 Fairer for workers, better for business 2️⃣ Then it’s a House of Lords session with a number of peers debating the Bill 3️⃣ A meeting with James Reed and Minister Madders (Business) to discuss current challenges, opportunities, and ways to collaborate 4️⃣ A planning meeting with the Viscount Camrose on the UK’s Hiring Taskforce - just 7 weeks today in front of 200 people in the Commons we will be launching ambitious plans to change UK #hiring 5️⃣ No fewer than 4 amendments going in to the Employment Rights Bill next week! 6️⃣ Finally ❗️ The British HR Awards - Reed Screening are finalists…OK not so much something of national importance, but we are looking forward to it… If you aren’t already involved in this work but would like to be, get in touch.
