  • 💄💅 ‘Cruelty-free’, ‘vegan’, ‘organic’, ‘recyclable’—the beauty industry has a history of listening to conscious consumers. But while beauty brands are tackling things like waste, deforestation, and microplastics, one question remains: Is carbon the industry’s blind spot? With 41% of consumers feeling guilty about the environmental impact of their beauty products, the pressure is on for brands to step up. Yet, little investment has been made into product carbon footprint transparency. We explored with Provenance how the industry can step up on its climate action ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eF69-y4Y Jessi Baker MBE

  • 🚨 EU Omnibus: What’s next for businesses and sustainability reporting?   The EU Commission’s Omnibus package proposes regulatory rollbacks designed to ease administrative burdens of climate reporting. While these changes could simplify compliance and strengthen competitiveness, they also bring uncertainty for businesses navigating sustainability disclosures.   What does this mean for businesses today? Scroll through the key takeaways 👇   Explore our full guidance ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gTcaVwnw

  • Last night we were delighted to attend the edie awards ceremony. The awards showcased the inspiring work of many organisations, initiatives and individuals. Tiphaine Aries had the privilege of presenting ‘Team of the year’ award to Measurabl. 🏆 A huge congratulations to all the winners and nominees! It was great to celebrate the hard work of every nominee who is striving to make a positive impact on the climate. 👏 We will also be at #edie25 on 26-27 March. We look forward to seeing you there. #edieawards

  • In a world where sustainability claims are everywhere, the Carbon Trust label helps you identify the ones you can trust. 🔎   The Carbon Trust label directory further provides a transparent way to find out more about a brand’s verified product decarbonisation efforts, so you can be sure that they are committed to measuring and cutting their emissions.   Check out the trailblazing brands leading the way on the directory ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eH9-aXRK

⏱️ Time is running out to achieve our 2030 global energy goals: triple renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency improvements.   With just five years left, what is current progress looking like and how can we accelerate the just energy transition at the pace and scale required? At the Carbon Trust, we believe a whole systems approach—aligning renewable energy, the grid, finance, and policy—is key to unlocking progress. We spoke to Mary Burce Warlick from International Energy Agency (IEA), Helen Clarkson OBE from Climate Group, Dr Samira Barakat from Vattenfall, John Murton from Standard Chartered, Marcus Stewart from Green Grids Initiative (GGI) and David Elzinga from Asian Development Bank (ADB) to get their take on what is required to meet these global targets. ⬇️

  • How can suppliers demonstrate their commitment to climate action?   We recently partnered with Bio Pappel SAB de CV, Mexico’s largest paper producer, to strengthen its climate action efforts. 📃   By adopting science-based targets, Bio Pappel has taken a significant step toward demonstrating its long-term commitment to sustainability. These targets not only align with the latest climate science but also enhance Bio Pappel’s position as a leader in the sector, ensuring a credible and transparent path to decarbonisation. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eFHW3sai

  • Sustainability leadership is at a crossroads. With the backlash against ESG growing, some businesses are scaling back on commitments—but at a time when climate risks are intensifying and consumer expectations remain high, stepping back is not an option. 📢 If you're attending the Economist Impact's Sustainability Week, catch our expert Marta Iglesias's session on 11 March (10:40-12:10 GMT) for a discussion on 'Sustainability leadership in a new era: How to lead courageously when the concept of sustainability is under attack'. Marta will join industry leaders to explore: ✅ How to reframe the sustainability narrative to engage stakeholders effectively ✅ The role of conviction and leadership in balancing long-term goals with short-term pressures ✅ Ways businesses can drive large-scale impact while demonstrating clear business value Now more than ever, bold leadership is essential to future-proof businesses and create meaningful change. Will you be part of the conversation? ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dZ_S-f9

  • Women face barriers in reaching environmental leadership positions, with only a third of employees in environmental ministries being women. This disparity highlights the urgent need to empower more women to pursue careers in the climate and energy sector. At the Carbon Trust, we’re committed to amplifying women’s voices in the fight against climate change. To celebrate International Women’s Day, we asked some of the inspiring women who spoke at our recent Energy Transition Acceleration Forum 2025 what advice they would give to others looking to pursue a career in the industry.   Find out their guidance here ⬇️ #IWD2025
