We're marking International Women's Day this year by asking the women of Zip World "what advice would you give other women in the workplace?" Poignant messages which matter every day, but especially today. This year's International Women's Day theme is 'Accelerate Action' for gender equality. Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality, both personally and professionally. Today, we are remembering our dear friend and former Zip World team-member, Ant Reed. Sadly Ant passed away yesterday, peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. During his time at Zip World, working predominantly at Betws-y-Coed as the site's General Manager, as well as a period of time at Tower, Ant was a positive force with his fun energy, kind nature and team spirit. He led by example, and thought the world of his wonderful team. Our hearts go out to Ant's family and friends at this devastating time.

Such a brilliant day yesterday at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, for so many different reasons! Our annual Leadership Briefing Meeting is always a great occasion - and with Zip World evolving and growing year-on-year across the UK, it's always so valuable to still be able to meet up in person. We kicked the day off with a really inspirational talk from Professor Terry Stevens, who offered plenty of insight and wisdom into the world of tourism. After discussing our plans for the year ahead, we awarded our team members who've now been with us for 5 years with the famous 5 Years' Service Award! The day concluded with a truly inspirational talk from musician Jules Peters. Talking candidly about her and her husband Mike's personal experiences with cancer, she gave us plenty of insight into what it means to be resilient, and how to get through even the toughest of times. All in all, a wonderful day, and it helped that we were blessed with some lovely winter sun too 🌞

Last week saw the first intake of recruits for the year ahead at Betws-y-Coed and of course we made them feel welcome straight away with a 100ft drop on Plummet!

Taking steps to become more inclusive ❤️ A big well done to our team members who are currently taking part in a 10-week British Sign Language course, provided by Coleg Llandrillo. The team will receive a recognised qualification and bring this valuable skill to Zip World, which will enhance their ability to communicate effectively with guests who may have additional needs.
