I was speaking to a very senior cybersecurity professional who is also a business owner and he made some very interesting observations which I am sharing: 💠 Not everyone saying they are a CISO is actually at that level 💠 His take is a CISO is a senior professional who can deal with the Board otherwise they are a Head of Infosec or Cybersecurity 💠 He believes that there is no place to use scaremongering tactics to get the board to provide money for cybersecurity 💠 There is no issue in hiring entry-level people they just need to be honest about their experience/skill levels so a training program can be built for them 💠 His final point to me was there are lots of organisations that need an effective cybersecurity program but think it will cost millions when in reality it doesn't have to Thoughts? I must admit I agree with everything! #cybersecurity #nqbrecruit

How many UK MSP's and MSSP's have still got to achieve their Microsoft Solutions Partner - Security designation? A lot more than you think... and when its comes to Advanced specialization focusses it's even harder! So is it worth it? In short... Hell YES!!! Especially if you know how to navigate Partner Center properly! When the 3rd October 2022 changes saw the Microsoft Gold and Silver partners start running around to attain their 70 PCS scores to meet the requirements of the Solutions Partner designations, so many have still yet to get there... Security has been one of the toughest I always hear to get through. When I look back at how many MSSP's and MSP's I've helped to build out their Microsoft investments, it's been very interesting. For everyone in #InfoSec choosing between a position in a system integrator, distributor or vendor presales/sales on one side and a position in the #InfoSec team/department of any corporate on the other side, here are few things to think about: 1) In a vendor, distributor or partner/system integrator side your job is to "make the money" for your company ... In a corporation your job is to "spend the money" on securing your company! 2) In a vendor, distributor or partner your real job & ultimate objective is to make money for your company ... In the corporations side your real job & ultimate objective is to secure your company, 3) In a vendor, distributor, or partner you have to always be up to date about technology because you always sell the latest version but on the corporation side you must always be up to date about the threat side because you will handle it with the tech you have no which is not necessarily the latest! cybersecurity budget will be most likely not affected by the AI revolution unlike all other IT domains (except AI research) according to IDC | MEA research and this is good news for #ITSecurity partners, distributors and vendors as well as corporations who will make the right decision about their products and security and this is mainly the factor that should be considered while accepting a job: is this a company that understands the changes AI introduced to the InfoSec ecosystem or not. #CyberSecurity #CISO

The UK Gov are to propose mandatory ransomware attack reporting and would have to authorise payments. I’m not sure how I feel about this. More visibility into the range and impact of attacks will help understand the true scale and provide valuable lessons learned. However surely it should be up to each organisation to decide how they will respond. One to watch

As I engage with leaders across the Five Eyes, it’s clear that IoT and OT are rapidly changing the cyber security landscape.
