This is great. Because the proposition is somehow magical — it’s a complicated thing, with lots of words and concepts people don’t even want to hear. It makes our (my) heads hurt. But this is very simply said: connect knowledge, make it easy to access, and your business will be transformed. Because these are problems every client I’ve ever talked to has, but they never know how to solve. How do I connect these pipes? Whose problem is it? Where do I start? What if insights from different data sets disagree? Because the team responsible for solving these problems and delivering these solutions is plain awesome. Human, fun, experts. Data magicians who speak the same language as you and me and can crack a joke in between. This is fucking great. Can’t wait to work more with you Matthew and Tom!

One question that I hear a lot when talking to clients is 'How are we performing compared to our competitors? Hisorically this has not been an easy question to answer. While we collect a lot of data globally, all we could discuss was industry trends without any specific measure. Over the last 12 months it has been refreshing having these conversations and seeing clients' reactions when I tell them we have a global benchmark for all industries. It has provided a new perspective for clients, some of which that were seemly performing well and happy with their results, have realized there is work to be done to remain competitive. Our Kantar data proves that the highest penetration today doesn’t guarantee future market share gains, it’s rather a favourable equity/size dynamic that does. Brands with more equity today than expected given their brand size are primed to grow…and grow faster. Penetration is an outcome, not the single route to growth. Salience is a requirement, but not the only one. Mental and physical availability are simply table stakes.
