The TPI Movement system employs six strategically placed speakers—three above and three below the screen—paired with a proprietary TPI Movement Controller. This advanced technology precisely steers the audio toward the listening position. The result? A soundstage that appears to originate exactly from the intended location, even though the speakers aren’t physically there. Choose the Right Support Structure - Trusses: Ideal for larger events, offering stability and flexibility in height and positioning. - Poles: Perfect for smaller setups or when space is limited and almost invisible. 2. Ensure Proper Weight Distribution LED screens are heavy, so calculate the load capacity of your trusses or poles. If you see that the structure is to have and not stable - add weight on the base. Send bags, for example. 3. Assemble with Precision Start with the base structure, secure it firmly, and gradually build up. Attach LED panels one by one, ensuring perfect alignment for a seamless display. 4. Secure Connections Double-check all fastenings, clamps, and cables to ensure stability. I attended the #cloudnativemedia session when John Boero presented AV1, a while ago. Since then John has written up his experience with the AV1 codec whilst using the impressive AMD MA35D. Link to the post below. The AMD card runs at an impressive 1 watt per channel and can transcode video with low latency thanks to the dedicated ASICs, courtesy of the AMD acquisition of Xilinx. This card can capture 32x1080@30fps or 8x4K@15fps in AV1 at a super low data rate of ~2.0MB/s total. Compared this to other cards it can transcode more than an NVidia RTX4090 at 35watts! In the last post, we discussed the pros and cons of LED walls compared to other technologies, but today, we wanted to discuss Pixel Pitch. What is Pixel Pitch? Pixel Pitch is the distance between the individual LEDs on a display tile, measured in millimetres. A smaller pixel pitch means that the LEDs are closer together, providing higher density, finer image quality, and vibrant visuals that bring content to life. Why Pixel Pitch Matters: 🌟 Outdoor Displays: For large billboards targeting motorists, a larger pixel pitch is effective due to the longer viewing distances. 🌟 High-Definition Needs: For displaying intricate graphics and sharp videos in places like showrooms or control rooms, a smaller pixel pitch ensures that every detail is crisp, even up close. Choosing the Right Pixel Pitch: 🌟 Standard Definition: A display with a resolution of 640 x 480 requires a basic pixel pitch. 🌟 Full HD and Beyond: For high-definition visuals like 4K, a finer pixel pitch is necessary to maintain clarity and vibrancy. A useful rule of thumb is that the minimum viewing distance for an LED wall is 1,000 times its pixel pitch. So, a 2mm pitch suggests a minimum viewing distance of 2 metres. Considering a curved display? The finer the pixel pitch, the gentler the curve should be to avoid visible gaps between tiles. Whether you're illuminating a cityscape or enhancing your indoor space, understanding pixel pitch enables smarter decisions for your LED displays.
