“I worked with Matt for 2 years and he is both a highly-talented developer and team lead. Personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Matt is a great problem solver who creates an open culture within the development team. Voluntarily taking care of the projects infrastructure needs and shielding us from disruptive business meetings, Matt was dedicated to going above and beyond to help the team deliver without the noise. Matt is an asset to any team.”

As part of my time at college we had to create a final project of our own design. I chose to write my own PHP and MySQL based CMS with an Adobe Flash front end, connected together using a basic API.

As a parent helper I assist in the class room at both the Nursery and Year 2 level, supervising games, reading with children and performing other tasks as requested by the teacher.

IT Co-ordinator
InQuire Media
- 1 year 4 months
Education
In this role I have stepped away from design and am concentrating on server management and technocal support for InQuire.
I basically keep the lights on and the network working so that the other volunteers and the readers of InQuire get the best possible experience at all times. I still deliver regular training sessions on the philosophy of design for both print and online, with additional practical sessions for InDesign and Photoshop. -
IT Co-ordinator / Head of Design
InQuire Media
- 1 year 9 months
Education
When I first joined the InQuire team they had no designer or anyone in charge of their out of date and inacessible website.
During my time volunteering for InQuire I taught the newspaper and web editors basic design and layout theory as well as providing practical hands-on training for each of them. I rebuilt their website, moving it from an outdated and inaccessible Drupal solution to a semi-responsive WordPress system which is still in use today. -

Social Services
I was responsible for redesigning and redeveloping the CSR website using Joomla. This was my first forey into open source content management systems, having previously only worked with my own bespoke system.
This responsibility was given to me at the age of 17 before I had been accepted at the University of Kent as I had shown a lot of interest in CSR. I was solely responsible for both the look and functionality of the website.
