At SAP, diversity and inclusion are core values that shape our decision-making and business success. #Diversity is a fact, not just a buzzword. However, managing a diverse team can be challenging, as it requires a commitment to understanding different perspectives! Diversity in teams, including varied cultural backgrounds and experiences, is crucial as it widens the lens through which problems are viewed and solutions are developed.  This diversity helps prevent the echo chamber effect, where similar opinions bounce around without critical evaluation. In "The Psychology of Stupidity," the concept of homogeneous teams is explored within the broader context of human cognitive biases and group dynamics.  The book emphasizes that homogeneous teams tend to reinforce their own biases and make more errors in judgment.  This occurs because such teams lack the diversity needed to challenge prevailing assumptions and introduce new viewpoints, which can lead to groupthink and poor decision-making​. Kudos to some of the outstanding managers who cultivated the spirit that different is good. Their commitment to embracing diversity in teams not only fostered an inclusive environment but also encouraged innovative thinking and creative problem-solving. It's thanks to their leadership that we learned to appreciate the value of varied perspectives and experiences, ultimately leading to stronger, more effective teams. Ending this week on a (very!) positive note, I am thrilled to share some exciting news: SAP is planning a substantial expansion of SAP BTP availability by the end of 2025. In collaboration with our infrastructure partners, we are working towards establishing SAP BTP in 10+ new datacenter regions. This expansion will include the introduction of BTP regions in Israel, Brazil, Australia, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, with more locations and timeframes to be announced soon. But that's not all: In addition to expanding into new datacenters, we are also increasing the regional availability of SAP BTP applications and services within existing locations. Our goal is to align the availability of these services across different geographical regions, ensuring that our customers can access our flagship SAP BTP solutions from a local datacenter in every country where #SAPBTP is present.  🌍 At SAP, we are dedicated to enabling businesses to run at their best, no matter where they are located. This expansion of SAP BTP is a significant step towards fulfilling that commitment.
