Wieew ! Zalando’s New return policy: Big changes for NL, DE, and IT starting today - From 100 days to 30 days! 🌊 Zalando is making waves by officially reducing its return window from 100 days to 30 days in the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. This marks a bold shift in how one of Europe’s largest online fashion retailers manages returns - The potential impact is huge. Why this matters For years, Zalando’s 100-day return policy has been a cornerstone of its customer experience. But with return rates averaging ±50% in the online fashion industry, it’s clear the longer return window was creating challenges, both operationally and financially. So, what are the expected outcomes of this switch? 🚀 A significant drop in return rates: Returns that previously happened between days 31–100 (an estimated 12–15%) will now be eliminated. This is a major step toward reducing overall return volumes. 💡 Stronger financial health: Processing fewer returns means cost savings in logistics, quicker restocking, and better cash flow management. Plus, seasonal inventory will be back in circulation much faster. 🌍 Positive environmental impact: Returns aren’t just costly—they’re unsustainable. By reducing the volume of returns, Zalando is taking steps to lower emissions and waste associated with return logistics. 💁‍♀️ But what about customer satisfaction? Well I think a message of opportunity: It's that opportunity for the German government to - Make sure, Germany is the best place in the world to create a company, run a company and be employed in companies - Work with the population to become more welcoming and open again - Invest into the infrastructure of the Germany of tomorrow - Set the constraints to make German cities more livable, walkable and playable for all kinds of people, including elderly people, kids but also entrepreneurs - Ensure, great talent is working to keep Germany and the people who live here secure - Stop the stupid, childish political populism in the democratic spectrum and strive towards a bold, confident way forward And the same goes for Europe. What a better day then to get together and have a plan how we can stand on our own feet, when our allies look like they will falter? 💪🏽🤗

Germany’s gender pay gap story is a mix of challenges and progress. 🤼‍♀️ "We don't need the Pay Transparency Act to foster equal pay... The gender pay gap is a result of structural issues which won't be overcome by that act." Maria Kamischke 🇩🇪 Compared to other European countries, Germany faces one of the highest unadjusted gender pay gaps at 26% – driven by poor representation of women and large pay gaps in certain functions. 👭 👫 Germany needs to bridge this gap to lead in gender equality. Apple, I didn’t expect this from you... I recently had a very unpleasant experience trying to cancel my AppleCare annual subscription, which I purchased two years ago while living in Germany. What should have been a simple process turned into a frustrating journey. Here’s what happened: ❌ I tried cancelling via Apple’s website—my subscription wasn’t listed. ❌ I checked the MacBook settings—again, the subscription wasn’t listed. ❌ I went to "checkcoverage" page —the subscription was listed there but couldn’t be cancelled. It redirected me back to my Apple account, where the subscription was still not listed 😤 . To make things easier, I contacted Apple Support via chat and spent over an hour explaining the issue. The support representative couldn’t help and referred me to another team via a toll-free number. The number? Invalid. I tried multiple times, no luck. They then connected me to a team in Germany. Unfortunately, the representative there had issues with his system and couldn’t lodge my complaint or schedule a callback. He promised to fix everything after restarting his machine. Seriously, even Microsoft windows works nowadays without needing a restart! Later, he emailed me saying they couldn’t assist because India isn’t on their list of supported callback countries. ❌ Another surprise: Apple doesn’t have a customer care email ID where I can track my request. After three days of back and forth, I still don’t know how to cancel this subscription. My last resort is to ask my bank to cancel the SEPA mandate. Apple, your products are world-class, but your customer service is far from it (at least in India). I expected much better support from a trillion-dollar company.

👶 Company reveal 👶 ⬇ Keragon - here's how it all started (Spoiler: This is not your typical Silicon Valley story) I met my cofounders 18 years ago during our military service and then studied together at Imperial College London. After uni, we started a company in the mobile adtech space and 3.5years later it was acquired by Glispa and then Market Group. After the vesting period ended, my cofounders and I decided to take some time off to focus on things we haven't had the chance to do over the 7 year grind. Even though there was a big overlap with Covid and restricted traveling, we managed to reflect, heal (yep, post-exit trauma is real) and eventually regrouped after 12 months. For the first time in a while, we held long sessions again - this time about career and life goals, and whether even considering working together on another play. Surprise surprise - our masochist part prevailed and we decided to jump again into the battlefield. However, unlike our first company, we weren't driven by a specific problem nor were passionate about a unique insight. This time, we decided to explore, agreeing on 3 core principles for our new venture: 1. pick any industry, but adtech 2. pick a broken space we could build a sector-defining company 3. life's too short to work with a-holes Healthcare quickly became the winner - as newcomers we dedicated half a year to researching how our skillset could give the most value in this space. And that's how we found ourselves hustling again: we reached out to 100s of healthcare professionals over 6 months, out of which 338 agreed to jump on a call to help us map the problems of the industry through their eyes - most of you are now LinkedIn friends, thanks for being part of the journey 🙏 We compiled and ranked a long list of problems - even though infrastructure is never the most glamorous play, we ended up picking this critical problem that was coming again and again and was right in our wheelhouse - healthcare providers are struggling with manual, repetitive, processes, and spend their limited time saving files instead of saving lives. And that's how Keragon was born. A quick summary of Meta’s Q2 earnings and what it means for business in Europe looking back and ahead. 🌎We are globally on the right path: ↗️ An estimated 3.27 billion people use at least one of our apps each day, a number that keeps on growing. ↗️ Ad impressions across our Family of Apps increased by +10% YoY. ↗️ The total revenue was $39.07 billion, an increase of +22% YoY. 🇪🇺Highlights from the European market: ↗️ The ad revenue reached $9.1 billion, which equals a YoY growth of +26% - this makes Europe the region with the second strongest growth worldwide. ↗️ The delivered ad impressions increased again by +6% YOY with the average price per ad percentage change being 18%, same as last quarter. 🤩What makes us excited: 📈 Our platforms are growing and we are continuing to deliver on the promise to our advertising partners and clients. 🤖 Our AI investments are paying off. For businesses, that is a huge chance as it is our belief that Gen AI will become more important for the way businesses can engage customers at scale. Over one million advertisers used at least one of our Generative AI ad features - just in the last month! 🧭 We are leading in AI development: 🦙 Last week, we released Llama 3.1 405B, the first frontier-level, largest and most capable open source AI model. 🔮 Mark Zuckerberg expects our AI Assistant Meta AI to be the most used one worldwide by the end of the year!
