The surge in digital banking has redefined the financial services landscape, appealing particularly to tech-savvy younger generations. What's interesting about this is not just the headline stat, but that the generational differences in preference are flattening too: as well as 60% of Millennials primarily using mobile banking apps, 57% of Gen Z and 52% of Gen X do the same.

Innovation presents opportunity for payments companies but also poses an ever present threat of disruption. In this environment agility is the basis of competition. Given industry consolidation, effective and rapid integration of technology, operations and culture can help payment companies become disruptors.
