ETF Express talks to Dr. Sarah M. Ruggins about the firm's flirtation with #etfs. Ruggins, whose doctorate was in ETFs and who joined the firm six years ago from an academic role specialising in index investments at Edinburgh University, says, when asked about ETFs, that nothing is off the table now. “It’s an area of interest and exploration for us to launch our own ETFs,” she says. Netwealth's Iain Barnes talks to ETF Express about the company's use of #etfs in their wealth management offering which has just seen assets go over GBP1 billioin. Barnes says: “I joined in 2016 to set up the investment process and launch the portfolios, and a prerequisite was to deliver market exposure in as efficient a way as possible calling on my experience at UBS where I combined ETFs with active strategies. “We felt there was a clear way to deliver market exposure without the unnecessary incremental fees of active managers.” Barnes says that the recent dramatic growth of the ETF market has been a real boon to investment markets over the past decade.
