  • Efficiency Factor and Risk Factor Based User Case Point Test Effort Estimation Model Compatible with Agile Software Development

In software outsourcing industry, to win a contract, outsourcing companies need to consider the price that they will introduce to customers. Therefore, estimation has played an important role in any type of software project and as well as for test projects. Particularly, the estimation of testing has been more critical and magnitude as companies need to present or bid their prices on the project to win the outsourcing contract. Wrong estimation can negatively affect the company sales in both ways. On the one side, the profit margin could be reduced or hurt when the bidding is less than that real effort. On the other side, the company could lose the project when the bidding is higher than that of competitors. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to apply economic and systematic estimation model or process to enhance the accuracy in estimation. The integration of highly skilled workforce and accurate test effort estimation software will provide significant benefits to companies. Up to now, there are various existing models of test effort estimation, yet use case point estimation is one of the most popular models in the agile software development industry. The present paper aims to investigate the use case point estimation model. Following the analysis, we have developed two important elements namely, efficiency and risk factor based on a new layer in the model developed by us. The benefit of the new model is to increase the performance and effectiveness of the use case point estimation model.

  • An Efficient Model for Mobile Application Regression Test for Agile Scrum Software Development

As an answer of long growing frustration of waterfall Software development life cycle concepts agile software development concept was evolved on 90’s. The most popular agile methodologies include Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, Crystal, Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), Lean Development, and Feature-Driven Development (FDD). Actually scrum is rather than a full process or methodology, it is a framework. So instead of providing complete, detailed descriptions, without a lot of paper works, everything is to be done on the project. This is done because the team will know best how to solve the problem they are presented. Regression test is also a very important part of software quality control process. Regression testing means re-testing an application after its code has been modified to verify that it still functions correctly. Regression testing consists of re-running existing test cases and checking that code changes did not break any previously working functions, inadvertently introduce errors or cause earlier fixed issues to reappear. While working in agile scrum software development methodologies we realized that there is no regression complete test process model available yet which is specialized for agile scrum software development. Sprint is the one of the fundamental part of agile scrum software development. Sprint is an iteration of work during which an increment of product functionality is implemented. The length of sprint can be different. So we developed a process model to divide the whole sprint in to several phases and inject the regression test to achieve a very effective and efficient process.

In the present time agile software development is a hot cake in the software development companies. A large number of companies in the software industry are implementing the agile software development without any previous experience and without a trainer as well. In many case they become successful but they always lose a handsome number efficiency. While working in the agile software development we closely observed the gap and the miscommunication between the development and quality assurance people. So here we are going to propose a managed approach which will going to improve the communication between the development and the quality people and in a fact in among the whole team members.

Abstract— The term cluster analysis (first used by Tryon, 1939) encompasses a number of different algorithms and methods
for grouping objects of similar kind into respective categories. Among different types of cluster the density cluster has advantages as its clusters are easy to understand and it does not limit itself to shapes of clusters. But existing density-based
algorithms are lagging behind. The main drawback of traditional clustering algorithm which was largely recovered by VDBSCAN algorithm. But in VDBSCAN algorithm the value of parameter ‘K’ which was a user input dependent parameter. It largely degrades the efficiency of permanent Eps. In our proposed method the Eps is determined by the value of ‘k’ in varied density based spatial cluster analysis by declaring ‘k’ as variable one by using algorithmic average determination and distance measurement by Cartesian method and Cartesian product on multi dimensional spatial dataset where data are sparsely
distributed. The basic idea of calculated ‘k’ which is computed from the characteristics of the examining dataset instead of a
static user dependent parameter for increasing the efficiency of the VDBSCAN cluster analysis algorithm. By calculating value
of ‘k’ with our newly developed arithmetic and algebraic method, user will obtain the most optimal value of Eps for determining cluster for the sparsely distributed dataset. This will add significant amount of efficiency of the VDBSCAN cluster
    analysis algorithm.
